Assault On The Hidden Palace

The moon was high, the clouds few and far between. The cool air blew gently from the north, keeping the night cool. It was the perfect weather for the Season-Passing festival, which was being held in the Hidden Palace. Members of all tribes were invited to share in the festivities, and commemorate the coming of fall and the departure of summer. Meats and vegetables covered vast banquet tables, and music filled the halls as every Earthwing male, female and hatchling celebrated, along with the visitors from other tribes.

All except for one.

On a balcony, where the music was barely audible, stood a figure, staring off into the night sky, its gently glowing green eyes outlining its face. Corrode sighed, looking back down towards the forest.

Even before his life disappeared from him, Corrode had never really been one for celebrations, but this night, out of all others, brought the sorrow out of him. And so, he planned to spend the night alone, with nothing but his thoughts. It was going to be a long night...

Astral was starved for some social contact. She knew this event would have members of all tribes which included the SkyWings and NightWings but Astral didn't care. She no longer ran from contact of those two like she use to. She was a goddess and leaving the tribe was something all the SkyWings would understand. The other reason she came was of all the territories Astral visited EarthWings was probably the least. Not wanting to make them feel left out she came.

The party was more than Astral bargained for though. The presence of a goddess at the festival attracted more attention than Astral was comfortable with. Escaping the crowd Astral went up to the balcony. Astral asked in the moonlight. She could detect anything the moonlight touched. It was her unique sixth sense. If any danger approached she would know of it.

Astral noticed another on the balcony. It was an EarthWing much larger than herself naturally. "For a place so lively you don't seem too happy. Whats going on?" Astral asked.

Arcke was flying in the sky then he zones out a little then hits head first into the dirt then looks up at Astral and Corrode

" I'm fine, I'm fine, hey Corrode and.... astral? " he said patting dirt off his head and whites his eyes from the dirt

Frostflare at the festival, deciding after a hard night of parting she could get a nice break. When she flew up to find a place to have a break for a bit, she saw a small group of dragons. Frostflare thought that having little company would be nice, so she wobbily flew her way over to the dragons. "Hey guys. Nice to see you. So here we have astral, didn't expect to see a God around, Corrode, and Akre. I wonder where you've been akre, but anyways nice to see you guys." She told the dragons before she took a seat. When Frost greeted Astral, she had bowed.

Grima Was having a blast at the festival, but she kept on knocking things over and almost stepping on other dragons, which caused them to get a little annoyed. She decided it would be best if she left before they started to riot or make some sort of anti-Grima movement. She towards the balcony, originally planning to pass it, but when she saw all of the other dragons, she had to find out what they were up to. "Hey, what's happening over here?"

VenomTail wasn't participating at the celebetrations. The last thing he wanted was to be mocked by other dragons because of his horrible aspect and the very small size. Also, someone would accidentally step on him or slap his body with a giant wing. So it was better to stay outside in tranquillity. He was lying down on a very upper part of the balcony, hiding under a roof, where other dragons couldn't reach him. Venom thought to be alone, but a lot of dragons arrived below him. Some of them were small, others big. Venom curiously gave a look of everyone of them. They were all different. He only recognized Corrode between them. He decided to not show himself for now, prefering to not be seen. He didn't know their intentions, but they were probably all here for the party.

Pulse glanced warily around the festival, she had just arrived and the party was all ready crazy. Not knowing what to do, Pulsie just gravitated slowly towards the food table. She wasnt hungry at all, she just wanted to see what they had. Meats, fruits, grains, vegi's and some weird other stuff was set on top the tables. She sighed, looking to where dragons danced or stood. It may have been a festival, though it didnt seem like much. What was there to do any way? She saw none of her friends, and a lot of dragons there were much taller than she. Pulsar sighed once again, and decided to drink some juice. Pouring some into a cup sized just for her, Pulsie watched the crowd and noticed some dragons near the balconies.

(Also, we're on a balcony Arcke, so I'm just assuming that you landed on that.)

Funnily enough, Astral would detect no danger, or signs of it. Just the same old wildlife in the forest.

Corrode silently cursed his luck, not knowing immediately who had come up to join him. He turned around, to find that another had come up onto the balcony, none other than one of the Gods. Well, if the divines should think he shouldn't be alone, then he supposed he had no reason to reject the company.

"Nothing really, Goddess." Came his reply. It would seem that he cared not who's presence he was in. He was damned sure that Astral had gotten bowed to more times than he could count tonight, and he wasn't about to burden her with his own. "These events...well...I'd rather not talk about it. The past is in the past. What brings you to this humble balcony?" He asked, before his attention was brought to the dragon coming to a crash landing on the balcony.

Was it so much to ask for just an hour of loneliness?

"Hey, yourself." Corrode bluntly replied before turning back towards Astral, only to spot Frostflare coming up from the party. When she greeted everyone, Corrode nodded his head to greet her, and then Grima showed up, asking what they were up to.

Corrode, annoyed by the sheer amount of dragons taking up what was supposed to be his balcony, responded appropriately. "Nothing much, just trying to see how many dragons we can fit onto this balcony before it buckles under the weight." He said, a hint of venom in his voice.

Frostflare greeted her sister. "Hello Grima, nice to see you. I didn't expect you to come to the festval tonight." When Frost herd Corrode's comment, she just though that he was being sarcastic, and just joking around. She laughed. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Nice joke Corrode! I didn't know that you could actually be lively at times!" She praised. Then she got things back together, and did relize how many large dragons were on the balcony. "What exactly was this balcony made out of? I don't want this thing to break because some partying dragons sat their rups on it." She mentioned, noticing that there was a few craks on it, proabaly due to weathering.

"Hi sis. You might not believe it , but I had a lot of fun tonight. Although my clumsiness did get in the way of a few things here and there....and size. Can we please have a moment of science for 24 glasses, 3 vases, 1 statue, 6 tables full of all kinds of different stuff, and who knows what else? Yeah, those items, and probably a lot of my money, will be missed." Grima laughed awkwardly and decided it would be better if she just stopped talking for a little bit. She didn't want them to get interested in the details of the story. When she heard Corrodee's words, she could hear the intent that came along with them, unlike her sister. She was about to comment on that, when she realized that the balcony might actually break. She flung herself into the air to prevent herself from breaking anything else. "Yeah, if that thing breaks and you guys all fall to your death or something, then I'm sorry, I guess, but umm...who should the bill go to?"

It wasn't just Corrode and Astral anymore. A whole bunch of other dragons showed up to the balcony as well. Akreious a SkyWing crashed his way into the group. FrostFlare came up from the party downstairs and paid her respects to the goddess. Grima also showed up. VenomTail was also their hiding at the moment. Astral knew the scents of all TDL members very well. Corrode didn't seem to be too happy about all the extra people though. He even made a comment about the balcony falling through. Grima asked who the would get the bill if it did. Astral giggled in response. "Not me, I'm way too light to be making any difference."

Astral like Corrode had also gone here to get away from all the people and while she was fine with a few dragons here and there but this was just too many. "Well looks like we formed are own little party up here. I think I'll take me leave." Astral said before jumping off the balcony and taking to the sky. She was just going to relax up here above the building for a bit before rejoining.

VenomTail remained hidden in his spot. He knew that Astral would have probably sensed his presence and it wasn't good. He hoped she wasn't going to tell the others that Venom was on the balcony. The other dragons has never seen him and they would start doing questions or mocking him. A bug dragon was very unusual, especially between the EarthWings. They were all giant while Venom was an ant compared to them. He heard the others telling jokes and having some friendly chats. There was an atmosphere peaceful afterall and it looked to be a enjoyable evening. He saw Astral flying away while Grima flung herself into the air. Venom realized she was a very huge dragon! Venom remained scared and he wagged its tail nervously, accidentally causing some bricks to fall, probably hitting the dragons below. This would accidentally take their attentions and look up at the tiny dragon.

Pulse had watched the whole scene where all those dragons hung out on the balcony. Some had left that spot for who knows why and she noticed bricks fall from the upper balcony. Pulsie giggled slightly as who ever had done so might be embarrassed or did that intentionally. Not wanting to linger by herself any longer, she flew on over to where the variety of dragons on that one balcony still stood. Stopping just a few meters from the railing, Pulsar smiled to each of them, "Hello there. Mind if I join you guys?"

It's not like Corrode was already in a good mood, but the dragon known as Grima was really starting to grind his gears. In the Old Times, there was no such thing as this calibre of haphazard idiocy. Everybody had a level head, and there was absolutely nobody who'd act like this during a festival of this calibre.

"The balcony will hold. It was constructed by Earthwings." he said matter-of-factly. He looked at Pulse, a defeated look on his face "I don 't see why n-"

Crack!

Corrode stopped mid-sentence, acknowledging the fact that a brick had just landed on his head. Physically, he was unfazed by it, but mentally, he started to boil.

Deep breaths, Corrode. Deep breaths...

"VENOMTAIL!" Corrode bellowed, his head craning upwards to glare almost murderously at the small dragon. "Get. Down. From. There." he growled.

Another brick fell down and hit Frostflare's forehead and rolled over her eye. She became enraged of how the brick went in her eye. The chemicals on it made her eyes sting and release tears that were trying to remove the chemicals. "VENOMTAIL! WHY ARE YOU THROWING BRICKS AT US? She shouted while tears rolled down only the left half of her face.

"So, wait is the balcony holding because of us, or because of this weird Venomtail thing you guys speak of?" A few bricks hit Grima, but she ignored them and looked up just like Frost and Corrode where. "What up there is so important that we all look at it anyway? I don't see anything." Grima squinted in search of the thing that everyone else was looking at. Not, too surprisingly, it didn't help very much. Maybe she'd she it if someone pointed it out to her, but at that moment of time she was undoubtedly failing at finding it.

VenomTail was upset to have caused so many dragons to become angry with him. Corrode threw at him a murderous look. That was a enough reason to convince the bug dragon to just escape. Anyway Venom was also frightened by the presence of the other big dragons, especially Grima. She was one of the biggest dragon he has ever seen. Only Cosmos was bigger than her. So Venom spreaded his wings and flew away at an astonishing speed, almost unnoticed. The other dragons could only see a green blur taking distance from the palace. Venom decided to head towards the forest, where he should be safe. It was impossible the other dragons could catch him, besides Astral or Akreious that were SkyWings.

~This is the last time i'm gonna post in this topic as I am way to busy to be posting in the first place. Sorry guys...~

Pulse's eyes had widened at Corrode's and Frostflare's angry tone. She backed away from the balcony and sighed, "Actually, never mind. I see you are already frustrated by a certain something. So, I shall not interfere or increase of how angry you are. Sorry to have bothered you in the beginning." She slowly hovered backwards, getting farther and farther from the railing, "Well, I will get going now. It was nice to have met you all in such a very short time. Perhaps I will see you all again, soon." Pulsie turned around and flew into the sky, leaving the festival behind her. It was too much for her anyway, though it would have been nice if she could stick around longer. But the fact that she had other things on her mind and other things she must attend to, the festival was no place for her that day, nor the rest of its happening.

Arcke was sitting there gently as he dozed off during all this, then waking up to find arguments?
"why are there Angry tones flying around? the atmosphere does not feel right" Arcke said, him in his normal form dislikes anger and negative feelings

Being a dragon use to moving at speeds impossible for any other dragon. The world moved a lot slower to her than everyone else. While to others Venom taking off was just a green streak Astral could see him very clearly not moving very fast at all in her eyes. She did know though he was moving faster than the other dragons could, except for Akre.

A sonic boom exploded from where Astral once was as she broke the sound barrier instantly with ease. In no time at all she showed up right in front of Venom blocking his path. "Oh come on don't leave. I need someone to keep me company." Astral said to the fellow tiny dragon in a pleading voice. "You wouldn't reject the request of a goddess and a friend would you?"
