Site Achievements!

So I just had the most grand idea to suggest we have Site Achievements! Think about it. Ever since we've rid of the Dragon Points System, this site has gotten a tiny bit boring. In fact I miss it. But spite of it's loss, I came up with the idea that people should be working and looking forward to getting achievements. Fore example: If You reach 500 posts, you get a icon next to your username when you log onto chatbox. Or if you win a event, there could be some kind of currency you could use and collect to spend on achievements. Well, what do you think?

Only RP posts should count and there should be a word limit for posts that count in order to discourage spamming.

That's kind of hard for people already over 500 posts because I am it lazy to count all the threads which weren't RP and those who were

Also since we kinda need some more active dragon gods. The first person to get 300 rp posts with at least 150 words or more in each post gets named a semi god or goddess. Previous posts from this one do not count. Only posts after this post count.

DISCLAIMER being made a dragon god or goddess does not make you a moderator.

I don't think that's a good idea. You shouldn't be known as a semi- or pure god just on how or how long you've RPed on here. If that were the case, we'd have a million gods and goddesses. And if we need more active dragon gods and/or goddesses, we'll be patient an d wait for someone to rightfully earn that position.

I said first person not every person. 300 RP posts of 150 words or more is more than earning it and what better motivation for posting than this. I can't think of one. I'm totally doing this mini achievement thing.

Achivements sound nice, but lets not get too crazy. Little things that are fun and creative are nice. Sorta like what you could by in DP points shop. Not EXTREAM but little things.
Ex. I am a new dragon that got 150 rp post that consisted of 100 words. I get a cute little symbol by my name in chat.
Ex. I got 300 rp post done that consisted of 150 words. I get a custom rank.
Ex. I got 1,000 rp post that consisted of 300 words. I get my own tribe.
^ok maybe thats extream, but I think you get the point.

Maybe you can make a new species of creature if you get 200 posts of 100 words.

Ok. Hmmm. 150 posts with 150 words in it for your own customized territory. Like another one, if you already have one. Maybe for more stuff but my idea.
Ex. A cave, Large tree, or group of small trees, a part of a meadow, not to big, but a nice living area.

My opinion on this topic.

I think we don't need this kind of stuff. We should simply roleplay following our inspiration and focus on creating stories. Short posts can be good as long posts.

We can give custom rewards to people that prove to be just active and they simply roleplay a lot. (they're purely cosmetic rewards, like a custom rank, a special emoticon and so on).

Also, I disagree about having more dragon gods. This would create a big gap between the players. I would suggest to abolish dragon gods and don't have them. So everyone will have equal strenght and the dragons will be all on the same level.

Tribe leaders can be SLIGHTLY stronger that common dragons. So they're granted to manage the tribe as they wish, but there should be also the possibility to defeat them for a change of leadership.

I'm fine with the idea to have only the three "Gods of Creations", but beside the creation, they shouldn't play an active role in Pyyria, but be more "watchers" that protect the dragon species.

Another idea is to have a special group with users that are assigned to roleplay side-characters that have the only purpose to create adventures and dangers for the players and they keep the forum alive with events.

I am not sure what the Dragon Gods Of Creation and tribe leaders have to do with anything on this topic.

People were also talking about having more dragons gods in addition to the site achievements, rewarding users that do long posts.

Yeah, the topic was going kinda off-topic, but I believe it's only a benefit to share more ideas.

My posts may be short but Im like a scout! I am quick but does not deal massive damage!

I still don't see how that related to the topic, but I do have to agree that there should be no more dragon gods, i am not saying to get rid of the current ones, but to not accept more. What are the three gods of creation anyways? If we were to have a limited amount of dragon gods then why don't we have one for each element?

I was just skimming through the forum for any new stuff that might have come up (still super busy!) but I found the time to add my two cents to this!

Being the topic of this thread, I firmly believe that the "Achievements" will bring us right back to where we were with the dragon points.

As a little off-topic comment, I think Atlantis' idea about members who have these "Side" or "NPC" characters and use them to start adventures is brilliant. You should definitely think on expanding that idea, sir. It has potential.

This achievements thing is a one time deal. An event of sorts. Only a certain number of each reward is going to be handed out and cheating by spamming posts isn't possible either. The reason I'm rolling with this is it doesn't have any of the flaws the dragon point system had. I also believe it will help the activity of the site without hurting it.

No, you'll always be able to roleplay with Frost.

The idea is to just have people that are assigned to create events and dangers for the forum, but they can of course keep using their main characters.
