The Ascension (Private: Ocean, Hatchlings, Astral)

It had been a year since Ocean's & Ark's hatchlings where born, Ark was returning back to the den with Aari who as now 7. When he entered the den he spotted Ocean, "Hey Ocean, I think me and Aari are gona have a quick hunt, since we have been helping Shine and Atlas in the palace" glancing towards Aari as he prepared to leave again dropping some of his gear that he was carrying. "We won't be long" he smiled and left the den heading towards the Ocean for a little hunt with his daughter.

Oceana was sitting at her's and Arkhor's den. She was playing with all the hatchlings. All 7 of them were getting along really well. Just then her mate came in, saying that he and Aari were going to go on a hunt. Oceana gave him a lick on the cheek, "Okay Ark, have fun!" She then nudged Aari to her father, "Have fun hunting Aari! Catch back a big tuna for me." She grinned at her. She had grown so much since the last time she saw her. Aari was becoming more mature too. After they both left, Oceana went back to playing with Thirahan, Rayla, Vaynad, Delphin, Adra, and Fraya.

Shortly after leaving the den Ark glided off towards the Ocean, Aari close by she was starting to become an excellent hunter like both her father and mother. Diving towards the clear blue waters, Ark made a large splash as his fins started to expand underwater. A flash of light sparked in his eye, he spotted his prey. Dashing towards the fleeting fish using his tail to assist in gaining speed, he snapped one in his jaws. Pausing to see Aari following and catching another, he smiled towards her giving her a proud look. Time had soon past they both surfaced happy with their catch, when suddenly Ark spotted a distance figure for what seemed to coming towards them. Since they had been hunting around the shallower waters their where close by to an island, Ark gestured to Aari to head towards land in case they needed to make an escape. The lone figure continued rocketing towards them, now Ark could make out that it indeed was a dragon, and he was certain it looked like a Sea Dragon. He wondered why the lone dragon was following them, he had to find out what it wanted. As he an Aari climbed onto the beach Ark spoke to Aari, "Get behind me! You know what to do if something goes wrong" He had to protect Aari at all costs, he didn't know what the mysterious dragon's intent was, he couldn't let Aari be harmed.

Aari actually hadn't gotten along with the new siblings very well at all. She was very mean to them. Over a year had past though and she was starting to soften up to them.

Arkhor decided to go on a hunt and Aari was starting to get old enough to actually help out. Diving into the ocean the two caught themselves some fish, but the victory was short lived. A stranger showed up and Aari abandoned her catch swimming up to her father in a flash. Arkhor though told her to go to land and with great reluctance she followed her fathers orders. The two now on land Arkhor told Aari to stay close to which she had no objections to.

Krishi was a long rogue dragon following the male and his mate and his family for so long. All of them seemed so happy together and Krishi was jealous. Nobody in his family cared about him. He had been stalking ever since the male in front of him became mates with the blueish, greenish, female sea dragon. Krishi also saw a younger dragon following him. "Must be the daughter.. I have to kill one of them." He neared the two sea dragons. They seemed to be heading towards land. "Who cares? Just follow them Krishi." He told himself. The little blue one was already on land, waiting for her father. He didn't let him have the chance. Quickly, he swam faster and faster and before the male reached shore, Krishi had already gotton there. He used his razored-sharp claws and slashed his wings. Then he bit his body so blood was coming out. Krishi looked at the damaged he doned. It was enough for him to die at least. "At least your mate and your family will be suffering a harsh life without you now." Even though Krishi envied the male's family, he decided not to harm the little one. He had done enough damage. Turning around, he swam into deeper waters, returning to his den and never to be found again.

After having Aari move onto land he could turn his attention to the mysterious dragon, suddenly he heard a splash near him, naturally turning towards the sound he was greeted with a dragon around his size charging right at him. Ark tried to defend himself but his wing was badly damaged from the razor claws of the hostile dragon, Ark roared out in pain trying to counter attack the foe. He had managed to swipe the chest of the foe with his claws, but resulting with getting bitten close to his neck, causing him to start losing blood. Another roar came from Ark clearly being hurt from his wounds, it came apparent that he was loosing.

Ark tried his hardest to fight but the blood loss was starting to get to him, that first strike took him by surprise leaving him at a disadvantage. Shortly after bashing his tail against the foe, the other dragon retreated back to the Ocean, Ark listened to his words knowing he meant to take his life. Ark didn't respond he started to become weak, almost falling over as he climbed closer inland. He hoped that Aari was alright, she was the only thing he cared about at the time. Glancing around he collapsed on the sand, the loss of blood was making him weak. Trying his best to stop the bleeding but it was too late, he was beginning to lose consciousness, as his eyes began to droop he spoke softly "A..Aa..Aari....." from that point he lost consciousness leaving Aari alone.

In horror Aari watch the events unfold before her eyes. The next thing she knew her father way dying right in front of her. Why did all these bad things always happen to her. As her father fell unconscious or as Aari though dead rage consumed her. Everything around her instantly froze even a thick layer of ice around Arkhor as her emotions triggered the fullest extent of her IceWings powers. Taking off Aari went to dive into the ocean after their attacker but she didn't succeed. The ocean water froze long before she got there. She attempted breaking through the ice but it was no good. In a short time the ice got extremely thick so Aari tried to dive into another location but met the same obstacle. She tried to calm herself but to no avail. She pounded and pounded the ice in thoughtless rage but the anger did not last long. Her rage was replaced by deep sorrow and she burst out crying. Wearily she walked over to her fathers body and lay beside it crying.

Oceana looked outside the den. It was almost evening. Arkhor and Aari had left since mid-afternoon. Nobody could hunt that long. She concluded that they were far too long. She hoped that they didn't get injure. Oceana had to go investigate. Leaving Delphin and Thirahan is charge she left. She dove into the ocean and swam and looked for her mate and daughter. She wandered around. Just then she noticed some ice in the water. "Aari! That has to be her," she thought but was confused. Where was her mate. She was ashore within minutes and Oceana was confused and saddened. "How.. Aari, what happened?"She laid next to Arkhor and looked at the wounds. It looked very hard to be healed. It could be fatal. She had to get Shine, or a healer at least. "Ark.. No... Arkhor! Don't leave me!" Oceana began crying, but had to calm down soon to help him. She hoped that a dragon, any dragon, could help them.

Shortly after Ocean's arrival, Ark began conscious again but still weak, he was fighting the urge to sleep. He opened his eyes half way after hearing Ocean, he spoke quietly "Oce.. Ocean... I'm... Sor... Sorry" he tried to left his snout but to no avail, the weakness was getting to him again, falling into unconscious again. It wouldn't be long now, his last thoughts where of his hatchlings and Ocean. He didn't want to leave them....

The tiniest sliver of moonlight began touching Pyyria and it was enough for Astral to notice the tragedy befalling her family. Teleporting there in an instant Astral got a better look at the situation. She noticed the ice Around Arkhor and cast a soft glare at Aari. Using her fire breath Astral melted the ice carefully not to injure Arkor. He was fading fast. She was about to teleport a healer here when she noticed something. Arkhor was a demi god. Wait that can't be right. If he was a demi god she would have noticed before now. Then she realized it. He was a semi god and his powers were awakening. They weren't awaking fast enough to save his life though. Astral put a foot on Arkhor and concentrated as she used her power to draw out his own. Once finished Astral airliftede Arkhor into the ocean to see if that would heal his injuries up. Under the moon light Astral injuries would heal very quickly. She wondered if Arkhor had any healing powers.

Ark was still unconscious when Astral arrived, he didn't know what was happening to him. It was all new to him he felt as if something was pulling him back to reality from the darkness. As Astral placed the injured dragon in the water, Ark's scales began to shine a bright light blue, the liquid around him started to simmer with a bright green light spreading around him. The glowing radiated the night sky with all the Ocean around reflecting the light, it lit up the island and the dragons gazing at the beautiful sight. Ark's wounds where being healed, the threat to his life was no more. He suddenly awoke filled with energy, he slided towards the shore still giving off a light blue glow unsure what has happened he dashed towards Ocean and Aari giving them a nuzzle with a comforting growl. His eyes then spotted Astral, he presumed that Astral had healed him and spoke "Thanks Astral, If it wasn't for you.... Well I don't want to even mention it..." happy to be alive so he didn't have to leave Ocean and the others alone.

Oceana sobbed and heard her mother-in-law come to the small group. Oceana couldn't bring out the words to tell what had happened. Instead, Astral brought Arkhor to the ocean. "Astral.. What are you doing?" She looked with curiosity and with hope that she could cure Ark. Within seconds, Oceana realized what Arkhor was: a semi-god. He had been cure perfectly. He went over to Oceana and Aari giving them a nuzzle. Oceana returned the nuzzled and also gave him a lick. "Arkhor, your a semi-god? I never knew!" She didn't care what he was. Oceana was glad that Arkhor was alright.

After Ocean's response he gave her a confused look, "A semi.. what? A semi-god? But how... I never knew.." he replied laying next to Aari to see if she wasn't harmed. After which he glanced to Astral hoping she would have the answers, "Astral what just happened?" he asked with a smile, giving a lick to Ocean, happy to be alive.

"yep your a god." Your powers had been laying dormant until now. Thats why none of us ever knew. That near death experience woke it up. What you are the god of I have no idea. Thats for you to discover. I know it has something to do with water though since putting you in the water healed you. Good luck discovering your new powers. Hopefully they won't be as drastic as mine. I tell you when my powers awoke that first night was scary. Took me forever to learn my own strength. Still sometime have a hard time holding it back on the full moon. I guess your powers won't be nearly as drastic as mine so you'll have it easier." Astral said to Ark before turning her attention to Ocean. "Oh and Ocean try not to include the semi part when talking to gods. Its kinda considered rude.

Aari was so confused. One second her father was dead then he was alive again then he died again and they he made the water glow and came back alive again. Then her mother and grandmother started saying her father was a god. What the heck was going on? "Daddy I'm scared."

Ark couldn't believe what Astral was saying, all this time he was a god? But it didn't matter to him right at the moment, he crept closer to Aari giving her another nuzzle and a lick. "Its alright Aari.... I'm back, I will never leave you" He wanted to stay with his family, but he was interested in his new powers. He did wonder why he was given this incredible title.

Oceana winced at Astral's words, "Sorry.. But your saying that I'm mates with a god? That's so cool!" Then she looked at Aari and told her, "You don't need to be scared. Your father is a god. He can heal himself.. I guess?" She was still confused because her mind was getting to all the new stuff. But she didn't care. Oceana was happy that Ark was alive.

Ark nodded to both of them, "Don't worry, I wont leave you" giving Ocean a nuzzle acompanied with a lick. Feeling better he was happy that he had stronger powers to protect his family. He wondered if the attacker would ever make a reappearance, but next time he would be ready.
