Brainstorming about conflict.

After an extended discussion in the chatbox, it has come to my attention that quite a few of the members would like for the current status quo to be broken. I therefore invite everyone to speak out their own mind on the subject. Speak up if you want to, no one's forcing you to remain silent but yourself.

for the sake of clarity. We will use the following rules.

• No critique; This is a brainstorm. We're here to bring forth our own ideas, not tear down those of others. Everyone is encouraged to spew forth whatever crazy shenanigans they can cook up, we can iterate upon the ideas once everyone has had their say.

• Quantity is quality: The whole idea behind a brainstorm is that due to the sheer number of ideas being brought forward by everyone, at lest some of them will be very much viable in the context of the argument being made.

• your imagination is the limit: Please do not feel ashamed of professing some outrageous suggestion or another. Your suggestion of sentient cheese cybrog bunnies from the planet zebes attacking might very well be the best idea anyone has ever had.

Site moderator Cosmos has volunteered to serve as a mediator during this extended brainstorming session, if any arguments arise, please direct them to him instead of derailing this thread with such things.

My suggestions


Word Count!: I cant stress this enough. A word count is needed. I am sick of people posting one or two or three lines of post. Its pure laziness. I am not saying any names but its getting really frustrating.

Get rid of the limit on dragon size. Yea, sure, dragons are stereotypically huge and terrifying, but that doesn't mean that's all they are. Your dragon should be able to be as small as you want it, and-heck-as big as you want it to be as long as it's not OP or a Mary Sue. Unless the dragon is a pure-blood of a specific tribe and born into one. Rouges and dragons who join should be able to be any size. For a site who's affiliate is 'Creative freedom' this rule needs to go.

Less private threads. Not much of a huge site changing thing, but what if we want to roleplay in a group or something.


I suck at explaining things but there's one of my ideas.

Dragon points: I don't understand why, or the reason why they were taken away. They were not incouraging spam, and also I think it would help people post MORE in roleplays. Besides, I never even got the summons I ordered......

Plots!: Come on guys we need some plots! To have less private rp's we need some plots. How long has it been since we have had a plot! Or even a gathering is good just something to spice things up.

Death: So many people have alternate accounts that they never use, or a chracter that they don't use. If you are going to stop roleplaying as them then might as well have the chracter die, besides, we need SOME death. Right now pyyria is too hapy yay, and we need bad things to happen.

We could make an episode system! Every episode is this site's main plot and that plot line will be the sites history! And the roleplays like the ones we do now could be side plots, happening in between the main plots but maybe even another universe entirely

A section devoted to fighting moves. Like a list of different attacks. Maybe a in a place that contains info on famous battles? The hall of fame could use some more topics... Maybe a one major battle per season thing, like a huge war in the Spring or Fall? (Or Summer or Winter.)

For trainee's to actually get trained and not be a trainee forever. It seems like nobody on this site ever ages.

Trinyah ages. All my characters do. I agree Frost, we need someone to actually train the trainees. And have actual ceremonies, not just say they are a trainee forever.

Sorry for the double post, but chu know how Warriors has StarClan? What if this place had something similar to that, like for dead dragons? Something like, HeavenWings or something?

I agree with you Shining. The site is passively growing more restrictive. There is absolutely no reason for people to be forced to this size, or have to be in it's. That defeats the fun of having your character be unique (But I think everyone wants to be that diamond in the rough so every dragon's gonna be different..). I mean, the only time I force someone to grow bigger, or smaller, is if a SkyWing was Cossy's or over his size or maybe a dragon that's a centimeter tall. At that point it's just ridiculous. Oh. My. Gosh. Yes! It's like you're waiting for so long and all they give you is a sentence worth of roleplaying. I mean, come on, those posts are just downright lazy and pathetic. No offense. But I do think there should be a word count.

I have no idea why they removed it either. It actually made the site more fun. I don't think it encouraged spam either. And I assure you that if we had DP right now, others would be posting more since you actually have something to gain from it.

Alright, so, Cossy, how would we go about getting these things changed? Once the size rule is fixed, I'm changing my most recent character, but until then, I want to get it fixed.
And I agree with everyone else too.
As for the DP, there's a way to only get DP from RP posts, instead of games. So that might be a good way to avoid spam, if we want to go that route.
Trainees. This needs to happen. So does aging, and-if the player chooses-dying. Both need to happen.

We can separate Roleplaying for Dragons in three sections: crazy roleplay, basic roleplay and advanced roleplay.

Crazy roleplay: as the name suggests, this section includes everything that doesn't have a logic (like a disco party with dragons)

Basic roleplay is about simple roleplay and there aren't particular restrictions. So people that can't afford to make long posts or they're just looking to do simple roleplays, can use this section to write their stories.

In the advanced roleplay section there's a minimum limit of 150-200 words for post. Plots are more serious and complicated.

So it will be more easier to separate the different roleplays and help the users to find their ideal section.

All of these sound great. I think we should do them ALL.

We ignore sickness, we never get a cold or an infection, but we need some. We also need a topic for history, not the graveyard, but old things like the birth of the dragon gods or if you wanted to do a story with just your characters. Also, we need to complete old topics, like, we have soooooo many unused topics that were good ideas. And, look at all those private topics piling up! We need more open to all topics. These are my suggestions.

@Atlantis: I like this idea, and maybe add a section Private RP's too.
@Scourge: There have been occasional sicknesses, but nothing too bad. (topic idea. I'll start it later) The history idea sounds good too, though that might be a good job for the Gods themselves.

Can there be a place to post things were only our character(s) are in it? Like maybe a journey or something that's an important plot point in the character(s) timeline. So kinda like a story that one wrote specifically for their character on the forum. You could have other people be in it also, but you'd need to get their permission for it first. Like seriously though, what if someone wants their character to die or something without making a topic telling everyone their dead and how they died if it they were alone when they died? It just makes for an awkward and boring goodbye, and it's hard to refer back to. If there's more detail in it then it's easier to make characters react properly to it. And that's just one application it could be used for. Sorry for ranting.
