Idea: Rules for character's creation and setting
I have found out the admins have actually different point of views on this argument.
I have decided to open this topic after we got an issue with Viktor's card. Phantom and Cosmos says that mechanical dragons are allowed. However Astral says that they aren't allowed.
So my question is: what is the rule? This is quite confusing me because it is unclear what it is allowed.
I see our dragons have primitive ways of living. They hunt preys and live in caves. They can breath fire. I'm not sure how sci-fi stuff and cyborg dragons can fit this. Are our dragons primitive and technological at the same time? It doesn't make much sense in my opinion.
My suggestion is to go this way.
1. The setting is medieval/fantasy. That means dragons can use weapons, armours and magic related to the primordial elements (light, darkness, fire, water, ice, air, earth). Every dragon can only have the power of its tribe, unless that dragon is a hybrid. The creation of mechanical dragons or any stuff that would remind us advanced technology will not be accepted anymore.
What are your opinions about this? I don't have problems about allowing advanced technology. It could work. However my worry is that everyone world start to have metal parts, use guns, missiles and lasers. I'd like to avoid this direction because Pyyria is supposed to be a natural world filled with magic. We have volcanoes, that is related to fire magic and FireWings, for example. We have the sea, that is related to water magic and SeaWings. I'd like to see the forum to focus on this direction instead of the artificial one.

It had been decided this was a midevile fantasy site when we were talking about the human dragon conflict in Corrodes topic. When most people think dragons they think fantasy. The site is based around a foundation lore. Everything within the site can't contradict that lore and I've seen many sites run very well with only that rule including one I admin at.

Maybe we should just have a list of things that you can't put on your dragon, like a canon that fires faster then the speed of light, or maybe just some setting that we do, like no super furture, or no ridiculously large weapons, or whatever. I don't know what I'm saying anymore, dn't judge me!

I think it's fine to have primitive inventions, but I would say no to technological devices, metal dragons and this kind of stuff.

I personally don't have a problem with advanced technology, but if it's too much, then we're leaning away from the fantasy genre and going towards the sci-fi. For me metal parts are ok if they aren't too complicated. Like, metal claws and limbs? Sure. But metal internal organs? No.

About internal organs and technological devices, I agree for a complete no. This forum is about natural territories and primordial elements. I believe The sci-fi direction doesn't fit the forum's environment.
Artificial little metal parts would be fine, but they need to be balanced. Having a metal part, can't make you stronger then a dragon with flesh. For example, a dragon with a metal lib, would have the weakness to not be able to completely move the metal part.
As I have said, I'd like to allow a bit of technology, but my worry is that everyone would start modding their dragons. The result would be a forum of metal dragons everywher.
So my solution: little metal parts are fine, but you have additional weaknesses. Cutting off flesh for metal, will not make a dragon better.

I would have to agree, with the medieval thing but the fact is this is phantoms nad Shardas's site what THEY say is the LAW, no other admin no other mod can say otherwise, its the chain of command.

I would recon removing shadas from the chain of command seeing that he never goes on. And what's so bad abbount chain of command? This is how I thin it should go.
