A New Beginning (Hikari and Jadespine)

A sound of creaking wood filled the air around the trees, like they were crying their disapproval. Though, any tree would if they had been landed on by a large, currently blue, male dragon. Hikari kept still until the tree had finished it's complaint. He knew it was big enough to hold him. When silence finally came, he turned his head and looked curiously around him, his amber gaze searching for anything out of place. He'd already finished his rounds for the day, but there was no harm in keeping an eye out. Officially, he was hunting anyway. With that in his mind, he glanced down at the forest floor. Any prey around surely would have ran as soon as he landed. That was a given. Sighing, he started to spread his wings to take of once more, the tree restarting it's disgruntled complaints when he moved.

Jade spotted Hikari climbing towards her and yelped. speeding up. She ducked into a tunnel and shot along it. Eventually her path was blocked by a boulder. With a growl of effort she shoved it aside, only to re-enter the cavern with the fungi, the moss, the stream and the skylight. She noticed that the time was approaching nightfall. "Oh." she said, disappointed. She sort of wished she could go exploring with Hikari more, but knew it was probably too late for that. she sighed, maybe they could explore more tomorrow.

Hearing a yelp, Hikari's head shot up, and he looked around. Catching sight of Jadespine scurrying away, he darted after her, skidding to a stop at the front of the tunnel, clinging to the rock face. He was unwilling to go inside, even if his newfound friend was willing to. Even looking at it made him shiver. He didn't see Jadespine reenter the cavern on another spot, so he gently peeked inside the tunnel. "Jade?" He called out, unconsciously shortening her name. He preferred it to Jadespine, as it fit her better. Her scales were as sparkling and green as a jade, after all. Meanwhile, Hikari's were a dull green that merely showed worry and slight fear at the tunnel.

(After many weeks of posting nothing I have finally returned to post.)

Jadespine looked around the cavern. She was starting to get tired. "I'm here." she said sleepily. She looked around the room and spotted a very comfy looking pile of moss. She walked over to the glittering stream and took a drink, instantly feeling refreshed. The water was amazing! Most cave water was muddy and gross. Mostly it just made you thirstier because of all the grit in it. But this clear water was fresh with a hint of flavor. She drank until she was full. Then curled up to sleep on a comfy pile of moss as the moon rose into the sky, slightly visible through the sky hole.

Hikari waited quietly in front of the tunnel, unsure what to do. He glanced at the sky, and the sun going down, wondering if she was going to come out at all. All he could hear from inside the tunnel was a quiet rustling, and a splash of running water. Hesitantly, Hikari crawled just inside the entrance and stopped, his claws having been tired from clinging to the rock face. "Jade?" he called again after another few moments, unaware she was settling down to sleep. He let out a yawn of his own, sharp teeth being revealed to the air. "Are you okay?"
