An Extraordinary Meeting (with Cosmos)

Rylatha felt the heat of the sun beat upon her scales as she basked in the light while laying down on a small flat boulder near a big cedar. Her blind eyes were closed in bliss as she purred in delight at the warm heat on her pelt. Her ears were pricked, alert, as she kept attentive to detecting any dragons that strolled by. Despite her affection of the sun, she felt a sense of loneliness; she knew that it was nearly impossible for her to strike up a good conversation with a fellow EarthWing, but it was hard. Most conversations had such things like "Have you seen the LightWings' jungle? It's so beautiful; a sight to see!"
See. Rylatha's least favorite word.
See.
Seeing sounded great, but it hurt to know that she will never see a beautiful sunset or become anything special.
All because of being born blind. It hurt more than any wound that a FireWing can unleash upon her.
She let out a forlorn sigh, choking back on tears. She turned away from her Tribe, head lowered in depression; she did not want them to see her crying.

Cosmos walked around the second to last border of his territory with a smile on his face. He was doing his own little patrol. His plans about the tunnels were on hold right now, but he'd rather take a stroll right now. He was rather chipper. He was down in the great hall for days, organizing everything. He was a little weary, but a drink of spring water and a bath in mud should fix everything.

Or that's what Cosmos thought until he stumbled upon a Hatchling. He squinted, wondering if he was seeing things right. When he clarified that this little one was just a kid, Cosmos lowered his head and sat next to the little girl, who was tearing up. He leaned down, trying to get a good look of her face. Cosmos smiled, ..Such a small girl.. I need to get her back to her parents, whomever they are.. He thought. Wrapping his large tail around the hatchling, Cosmos nudged her with the tip of his snout. "Hello.. I'm Cosmos. May I ask what your name is?" Cosmos had no idea why she was so far away from the rest of the tribe, it was dangerous to be this close to the borders.

Rylatha jumped when she felt a tail wrap around her. She opened her eyes, though knowing that she can't see anything. When she heard a voice, who said his name was Cosmos, she tilted her head up to him, revealing her blind fiery red eyes and scarlet cat-like pupils.
"My... name is Rylatha."
Cosmos... The name sounded quite familair... Where did she hear it from?
Suddenly, it hit her.
"S-Sir!" she stammered, instantly lowering her head in deep respect. "It's an honor!"

(sorry, I've been busy like you've never known 'busy'!)
"Rylatha," Rylatha repeated, warming up to this dragon. She grinned up at him and let out a soft dragonic purr.
She suddenly had an idea.
"Hey, you 'wanna play a game, Cosmos?" she said suddenly, and she waved her tail in a playful manner. The other hatchlings never really play with her for being blind, and the adult dragons seem to not mind her. Perhaps Cosmos was different, and friendly.

Cosmos chuckled. "Alright, Rylatha. I'll play. But before that.... do you have any parents? There are safer places for kids to play then over here... especially over here." He said with a questioning look. Cosmos stretched his grand wings, shaking the dirt off of them, he could use a bath under the waterfalls. Cosmos, now that he was thinking about hygiene and all, sniffed Ryltha intently. He shook his head and ever-so-gently nudged her with the tip of his muzzle, "In fact, little missy, you could use a bath underneath a warm waterfall. I bet everyone could. Especially our vulcans. They're always in those forges of theirs and never seem to take a break. I guess I'll have to suggest they join in for a feast sometime." He mumbled.
