Dragon Shops and Currency

Hello dragons of teh site! I hereby propose to you a revolutionary idea! Shops and currency! Now, you older members may remember when we stil had Dragon Points, and this is kind of like that. However, each dragon will be given a certain amount of money. This will be about fifty dollars. Instead, the money will be named "Drachor". So each person will recieve 50 Drachor. HOWEVER. Admins can only give this much to dragons who announce they want it. Unless Astral or somebody else knows how to simultaneously give everyone his amount.

Drachor will not be gained through posting. Instead, it will be gained through other dragons at the shop. There will only be one shop for now, so things don't get too wild. Vulcans may work at the shop by crafting and selling to the shop. Even though your money won't appear IC, the items you buy WILL.

Vulcans are allowed to craft material if they have the right ores. They can get these ores from the shop. Anyone can work at the shop I set up. You cannot suddenly have all the material. Please make a topic about getting these items. Or, if you're a Vulcan/Healer, make a topic that describes what ores/herbs you have in your den.

This is only an idea. What do you think of it?

As we discussed in chatbox, I find this suggestion/idea a very interesting! Yes, it's a shame that we've ridden of DP (I've never came to understand why we got rid of it.. hmm..), and I'm sure that if this idea is approved of, it will sort of the new and improved DP. Which, with all honestly, I am excited for. However, I believe only certain people who meet a requirement can sell things. Hypothetically speaking, I think vulcans, if this goes through, would be given a free pass into selling things. I mean.. they've been on this site for as long as I can remember and I can't recall they've actually used their skills for something valuable.

Well, these are my thoughts, and I do think this would be a awesome idea for the site.

I'm fine with this. Since I am teh creator of The Shop, I shall be the manager. This makes any Vulcan free to sell at the Shop, but they need to PM me first before they can set up their stall. Otherwise I'm fine with this.

Trackers could sell prey items and food to the shop. Guardians could earn Drachor from their tribe leaders. (For doing a good job.) Perhaps ores could be obtained from the mines. An enormous labyrinthine cave system from which all ores are obtained. I think this is a great idea!

I see nothing wrong with this and could serve as a way to break the ice in many rps. However I don't see why the admins have to keep track of it. Why not have someone like you Rayla make a forum and keep track of peoples currency there?

If everybody has only fifty, there could quickly become a problem where all the shop sellers have all the money, while the possible buyers have none. I think you need a way to earn these Drachors back.

That, and why only Vulcans?
I know Vale often makes fun little trinkets out of gems, glass, metal and such, but I've got a an Icewing Character (Who is still hatchling and seems to have been orphaned) and in her bio I said she makes little prisms and stuff to sell.
Same with healers. They could sells herbs, potions, etc. to other healers or just dragons so the trip isn't so difficult to find other herbs.
I think every dragon-should they have something interesting you sell-should be able to sell stuff.
But I also agree with Zeohyros. How would a buyer earn that back?

It was a hypothetical suggestion. I wasn't giving much thought in it. But it was an example. But I believe if one has something worthy of being sold, then they should have the consent to sell it.

@Astral I thought you could make DP again, but rename it Drachor. Or something.

@Shine Well, I agree, everyone can sell supplies. But, you will have to ask me, first. We can't have people running all over the place with their shops, now can we?

I'm down for this, but how would someone with nothing to sell get money back to buy stuff? (Repeating because I feel like this needs to be addressed. Unless I'm blind and can't see the answer. XD )
