Entering the Earthwings [EWs Only]

Rafej stalked through the unknown land, his eyes wide and alert. What would he do if he was caught? Would he be killed? Welcomed? Would he be able to escape? Rafej shuddered at the thought. He didn't like intruding, but he was so hungry... Suddenly the scent of sheep flooded Rafej's nostrils. He crouched down to the ground and crept forward until the sheep was a leap away. Right when he was about to leap, he heard the sound of leaves crackling. The sheep must have, too, for it jumped and waddled away. Slowly, Rafej turned around, not daring to breathe.

The old one chuckled lightly at Rafej's answer. "Perhaps you will, one day. But fighting is not as, hm, appealing as you may think. And a poisonous fang, hm? I'm sure that's perfectly normal. It would certainly give you an advantage in battle." Baldirak landed at the edge of a treeline. "We walk the rest of the way." He moved through the forest slowly, limping along. It was a good thing, he thought, that he had no reason to run. A minute later, they would come upon a waterfall and to a large tunnel behind it. Baldirak stepped into the tunnel and turned his head to look at Rafej. "This is one of the entrances to the Haven. All of them are guarded by Rylatha's animals. You see, as a semi-goddess, she can mutate animals and control them. So they protect and hunt for us. We hope to one day to be able to do that for ourselves again, to return to living above ground." He continued on into the tunnel and eventually was greeted by the sights and sounds of his fellow EarthWings going about their jobs or simply conversing. He stopped in the center of the main chamber of the Haven and sat. "Shall we show you around, or would you like to explore by yourself?"

Rafej perked his ears when Baldi chuckled. "I guess not," he said as seriously as he could. "I just want to make myself useful. And great! I don't know if I truly want to hurt anyone or not... I guess I have to have a reason why. I don't have a reason yet," he concluded. Rafej followed Baldirak, dropping to the ground when he did. His eyes grew wide in amazement as Baldirak told him of Rylatha's power - it truly was amazing. "Super cool!" he breathed. "And useful, too," he added, realizing that Rylatha protected the EarthWings with her rank's powers.

Rafej looked on in awe as they entered the chambers. "I hate to use your time but... can one of you show me around? I don't want to be mistaken as a trespasser and get... executed." Rafej shuddered. The sound of the waterfall behind him made him relax and he realized that he would most likely be living here - for the short while that the EarthWings had to live here. The ends of his maw began to rise, the beginnings of a smile.

"Executed? No, no such thing would happen. But I would be happy to show you around. We'll begin right here," he said, gesturing to where they sat with his wings. "This is the Main Chamber, the biggest space in the Haven. It is here that we hold meetings and from here that you can find your way around to everywhere else. Now, we'll move on to the Healing area off to the left." Baldirak stood and made his way over to the tunnel at the far left, which led to some send and the chamber where injured Dragons were tended to. "Should you ever find yourself in need of a Healer, Rafej, this is where you go." He turned around and went back to the main chamber, going down another tunnel which led to more dens. A third tunnel led to the School. "Rylatha came up with the idea of an academy, that we could we could teach all Hatchlings at once depending on their age group. So this is where you come everyday to learn." Now a fourth tunnel led to the Forges. "And here is the domain of the Vulcans. Just across from here, down that tunnl there," he pointed with a click of his tail to the right of the nearest forge, "Is the armory, where we store newly-made armor." He turned and headed back to the main chamber. Going down the far right tunnel led to some more dens and tunnels. Baldirak stopped occasionally to show Rafej some exits and places where Rylatha's animals dropped food. All throughout the Haven, there were pools of water. The EarthWing concluded his tour by stopping at his den. "...There are plenty of places for you to make your den, Rafej, just find a spot you like. Now then, any questions?"

Rafej stayed silent as Baldirak kindly showed him around, yet his expression was full of awe and amazement. He loved the place already - and the other dragons seemed kind. Even the thought of school was appealing to him. He flapped his wings carefully in delight, letting out a trill of pleasure.

"Wow, this place is humongous - and awesome!" he screeched quietly when the tour was over. "Thanks a ton for showing me around, Baldi! When will I begin school?"

Baldirak smiled. "You're quite welcome, Rafej. You can join tomorrow's class." He went into his den and placed the lunar rock at the back, below where his armor hung. "For now, you can go look for a place to build your den. I have to relieve one of the Scouts." Baldirak left to a tunnel entrance nearby to begin his duties as a Scout.

"Thanks again," Rafej trilled. Then he turned away to go meet new dragons and find out where to make his den.

(((She is? Yes, Baldirak gets aother nephew! XD Well, I guess we'll just wait for her to come back. Maybe in the meantime Raj can follow Baldirak around and learn stuff.))

"You're welcome, Rafej." A few minutes later, Baldirak was seated just inside a cave which led to one of the tunnels. Here, he was concealed, the cave being quite dark, as caves usually are. He looked around, making sure no Dragon who wasn't an EarthWing came anywhere near. If they did, one of his sister's mutant animals scared the off, of course. But it was rare than any such occurrence happened. As a result, the job of Scout very boring. But it was a necessary task, nonetheless, and Baldirak was happy to do it.

Stellarus glanced wildly around then took a deep breath she wondered how many dragons were in the territory.
