The Secrets of DAelorios Island (Open to all)

DAelorios Island -- Located in the Valoras Sea at a distance from the mainland that the former EarthWing territory is from the NightWing territory. It has been forgotten by the tribes, only a myth now. It is said to have been the place where Dragons first appeared after the world's creation. Known as the ElderWings, these Dragons resembled in appearance all of the Dragons seen today. When overcrowding threatened them, they migrated to the mainland which was much larger. Overtime they would evolve into the seven species seen today and eventually form tribes. The ElderWings left the island deserted, nothing but simple prey animals remaining... Or so it was thought.

//As mentioned above, this is an island that as been lost to time. So maybe your character heard a myth about it from their tribe's Scholar who discovered some vague writing about it. Or maybe you saw Baldirak heading out across the ocean and decided to follow him. Whatever your reason to going to the island, once there, you'll eventually encounter an NPC ElderWing--played by yours truly. And then you'll be led to the ElderWing's city. Baldirak had ventured to the northernmost edge of the old EarthWing territory. When this place still belonged to his tribe, he would come here to gaze at the ocean. He sat now doing that very thing, inhaling the wonderfully salty air as waves rolled and crashed against the coast. In his youth, Baldirak had traveled across Pyrria, seeing as much as he could. He'd visited most of the small islands in the Crystal Sea and seen some islands elsewhere that he hadn't visited. One such island was just in front of him, though a good distance away. At the moment, Baldirak had absolutely nothing to do; his fellow EarthWings didn't require his services. So why couldn't visit that island for a little while? The more he sat there thinking about it, the more tempting it seemed. Opening his wings as he stood, Baldirak stepped off the cliff into a short dive before ascending to the sky. He smiled lightly as the cool ocean breeze hit him and the sun warmed his back. It was such a pleasant day. For about ten minutes, there was nothing to gaze upon but the ocean and the sky, neither of which had anything interesting in them. There were a few clouds dotting the robin egg blue sky. Some were thin wispy things that might fade to non-existence if the winds suddenly decided to change direction. Others were thick fluffy mounds of rabbit fur that cast shadows on the ground and covered the sun. But soon the EarthWing was able to see the coast of the island on the horizon. The coast was composed of rocks rather than sand, yet was still nice to look at. From his place in the sky, Baldirak could see that the island was covered in trees, the only noticeable clearing being a large lake at the center. But rather than going there, Baldirak landed on the rocky shore. He would work his way to the center of the island.

"The Soul Arbiters Gem, apparently when humans had come to this land they had kept the gem somewhere safe, butt he black dragon, Shizarou wishes to find it for his own power and needs. With that gem, so legend tells, the old gain the power of life, while the young gain the power of death, and those who are of both wisdom and youth shall gain both. He plans on turning this world into his own, starting with this island. How do I know? Because, our last fight he spoke of it, and he would not be here without reason either." Bassasail explained better to the Elder, the sunlight heating up the blood and causing it to dry on his scales. He was more worried about that gem, with that item any could become God... anything and anyone, if he was to find, he would best destroy it for safety precautions, even his own need for power can only be obtained through his own fighting and training, not absorption of power.

Shizarou, as a slithery bastard he was, spoke with a tongue of deceit, yet he spoke it off ell enough that he sounded looked like he spoke the truth, "A caretaker of mine had died many years ago when she was attacked by another dragon, I want that gem to revive her as she was before, she was like a mother to me, one who cared for me when I was just a young hatchling and until I had grow enough to stay out of the den." He spoke it well enough, if a dragon could see through this, then he would be damned, he would have to gain the gem itself and kill everything on its island, young, old, and unable for battle, he did not care but for hisHe could feel the own personal greed and lust. He could feel the power come from below their paws, down then north from what it felt like, if he came across other powerful relics as well he will gladly take them. After this gem, it is off to the scroll, the one thing that could help him reform this world, yet, he needed the gem for this purpose.

He does so. And so he saw. And the world achieved balance once again. An interesting setup, you have here... I wonder where those rocks are coming from...

"I understand, but we must hurry, there is no time to waste," bassasail said to Reya, getting up from his knee and standing at full hight now. His brand embedded on his neck glowed a violent red and burned, Shizarou was here most defiantly, and hopefully, they can stop him before the can get to the artifact. Hopefully this gem was just a hoax, then again, there was something unsettling about this island.

"I see," SHizarou now had the idea of where the gem was. he had looked around for a moment, clenching his claws into fists, his the claws digging into his palms and causing them to bleed even through the thick scales, "Then I suppose I have no time to waste," He lifted up his left hand and released a powerful wave of darkness, shrouding the entire room in darkness and causing it to shake and rumble as he would blast the entrance where he could sense the gem was. As swift as he was, he took off immediately, collapsing the pathway he went through in order to buy himself some time. He felt he was on the right path, but hopefully, there will be no more roadblocks.

"Jade is there something behind that wall?" Lily spoke in a shaky voice

Bassasail nodded, "Let us hurry then, if it buys us time then good. We need to be swift about this, as smart as Shizarou is he can be clumsy and moves into his objective head on without thinking. If he hungers for power then he will force it and will go after it without second thought. Hopefully..." He trailed off, following the elder dragon, "Hopefully, we can end this nightmare with his death..." He did not know if Shizarou will die this time, he was determined to make sure the dragon dies at any cost, even the cost of innocents, he needed to make sure the death of the black dragon was successful, if not, he could not stop until even himself died.

Lily took off the necklace, she let it go and it flew towards the bottom right corner of the back wall. "Whatever it wants is behind there." she turned her head to look at Jade.

((There's a reason for it.))

The Gazer smiled. "True, but that is why mine shall take into account the phase of the moon. Ao, fetch those stones, if you would. I admit, I am not yet sure what purpose it could have. But before that can be determined, we must first have one. The stones I sent Ao to get, they abosorb different quantities of light. Perhaps even on a somewhat clouded night, you could tell the phase of the moon by which stone glows?"

Baldirak had heard voices near the entrance of the library (Torg, Ao, and Bain), but they passed quickly. He returned his attention to a scroll he was reading. It was an account of the early history of the EarthWings. Several other scrolls lay at his paws, some about the other tribes, and the rest about ElderWing history. He even found a few things on Humans... and skimmed through most of them. The king had already been in this library for an hour or two, and he had not planned on leaving anytime soon; there was so much that could be learned in here. But his stomach began to rumble and he realised he hadn't eaten since breakfast. Baldirak took the scroll he was currently reading with him and made his was out of the library. The scent of food wafted through the air still. He followed the smell to the end of the hall, only to find a sort of portal. Cautiously, as he'd never been through a portal before, he stepped into it. Baldirak found himself in the center of a city. Blinking, he looked around, his pale eyes taking in everything... including the group of ElderWings who now stared up at him.

((His voice keeps changing! Its like some deity controlling him is unable to remember a hexa code or something!))

Bye, Mr. Cautiously Brave Adventurer. He said as he took the bag. Turning back to Bain Iiii.... maintain my right to doubt this project's validity, but let us see how it ends. He then follows him to wherever they are going.

Lily looked at Jade "Does this mean I can't keep the necklace?" she asked her tentatively

Bassasail gave a low growl to himself, he did not wish to be too late. After hearing what had happened, he was even more eager to find that damned stone.
"Then if what you have said so far... we need to hurry and find this 'Siris', if he had made contact with the black dragon we need not waste time."

One trap after another, Shizarou began to anger more and more as this continued on. Another trap, he destroyed it using his tail, and he could feel he energy of the gem fading as he grew closer to a door.
"I Have Had It!!!" Shizarou roared as he flew upward, breaking through the ground and to the surface and taking to the air, arriving above the forest, "I Will Lay Waste To All, Including The Island Itself!" He then charged up a beam of darkness in the sky in his mouth, among for anything his eyes would lay upon.

He directed his all-perieving gaze at the heavens, pondering the depths of that question, and how he could adequately express the vast expanse of celestial objects filling his field of vision. He debated the nature of existence and the intricacies of orbital mechanics before realising that he knows nothing about either of those, and decided to answer in the most meaningful manner possible, passed down in the family for generations: It is black with small specks of light scattered in it.

"Here let me try," Lily took the tip of her tail and pried the gem from its hiding place. "What should we do with it?"
