A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)
The Earth King sat in the main chamber of the Haven, watching as his people shuffled about joyously in preparation for the feast. It had been far too long since the EarthWings celebrated anything. So Baldirak declared that today the tribe would have a feast to celebrate their success over the years, the reign of his father, and the first few months of his own. He looked down to see a group of Hatchlings racing past with a freshly killed deer on their backs. Most likely they were taking it to the tables on the surface. Yes, Baldirak had said this feast would take place on the surface. Of course, one couldn't venture past a particular group of trees which served as a landmark for the borders of the SeaWing and FireWing territories. But at least everyone could enjoy some sun and fresh air for a change. Standing, the monarch made his way down a tunnel to a cave which led outside. Several tables were set up near a lake, all already filled with a variety of meat. Rock pillars with vines wrapped around them stood around the area to serve as perches for those who wished to eat in peace. There was an area for younger Hatchlings to play and a scavenger hunt had been put together for the older ones and anyone else who wanted to join in. Baldirak inhaled deeply as a breeze went passed, the scent of trees and meat wafting to his nostrils. He blinked as the sun filled his eyes for a moment. He wasn't at all worried, as some were, that the FireWings or SeaWings might discover them here. Even if they did, all evidence of the cave and the tunnel eading to the system underground was completely hidden. And besides, they were in neutral terrtiory. Baldirak limped over to one of the tables to sit and wait for his tribe to join him. Strangely, his leg didn't seem to be bothering him much today. But perhaps that was all in his mind. After all, today was meant to be a relaxing, fun day.

Getting the show ready was not easy but he had made it.Seeing his king looking at him Max tried his best to look proud.''All right so at noon there will be an aerial show with something that I made they're called cracklers'' He pointed at the Firework.

((Sry I haven't been online D: Shall you ever find the heart to forgive me? <3))
Rylatha was thrilled as the news of a feast reached her ears. There hadn't been many feasts in the past, and this was the first one since she was a Hatchling. If there were any more, she was most likely oblivious, or so busy with her duties that she hadn't bothered to show up. Or maybe she forgot.
Either way, it was good to be there. Rylatha had brought her Hatchlings along with her, which should be reaching the Trainee age very soon. The goddess let her friendly animals roam around the party, playing with the Hatchlings or goofing off to amuse the older EarthWings.
Now Rylatha was sitting by the hidden entrance to the Haven, giving every dragon that passed a friendly smile and a 'hello'.

((RYLA!! *Tackle hugged*))
Baldirak was watching some Hatchlings chase each other when he heard someone talk about.. cracklers? He looked around and saw Maxeylius then looked to the objects he was pointing at. "You made those, you say? I'm most interested to see what they do." He smiled at the Vulcan then heard his nephew Amadeus whining about something yet again. The king chuckled then spotted his sister next to the cave. He stood and made his way over to her. "I'd hoped you'd make an appearance today, Ryla. You've been so busy lately."

Vilkas already heading for the meat-filled tables... Stealthily, of course. He knew none of his fellow EarthWings would mind, but his mother had already scolded him for not leaving food for others. He smiled when he noticed his uncle going over to his mother. Now she would be distracted. Vilkas hovered over a table and grabbed a piece of smoked deer before flying off to one of the perches. As he ate, he looked around for his sister, Evaleen.

Meanwhile, Torghaith was near one of the decorative ponds, apparently fiddling with a rock, and a small wooden platter. Whatever he was doing, seemed to be interesting enough that he was not paying any attention to his sorroundings at all.
He arrived an hour or two ago, overly early as usual, and was bored, so he started messing around with one of his new acquisitions, said acquisition being the aforementioned rock, when he noticed a strange tendency, which then lead to the current state of affairs involving near complete obliviousness to ones sorroundings and playing with a simple boat and a rock in a pond at the earthwing king's feast... seriously, some hatchlings are more mature...

Vilkas noticed a wingless EarthWing he'd never seen before by the pond and flew down from his perch for a better look. He landed just behind Torghaith and crept up beside him, peering over at the rock and wood plank. "What are you doing?"

Waitwhatwhowhy?!
Frantically looking around, Torghaith eventually locates the hatchling behind him.
Oi! You shouldn't creep up on people! ....Anyway, answering your question, I am passing time until the actual feast starts. Look!
He puts the platter back in the middle and carefully puts the rock on it so that it does not start drifting too much. Slowly but surely, the plank turns in a specific direction and remains like that. Then he excitedly turns back to Vilkas.
See?

Re: A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)
((Oh well I'll just assume my plot happens before that.))
Rhune difficultly made his way to the surface, more than once getting lost in the tunnels. He blinked as he finally made it, the bright sunlight blinding it. It took him a minute to get used to the light, during which he just sat at the entrance with a paw covering his eyes. With all these years spent in the dim light of the human dungeons, he sure had a hard time to quickly adapt to a bright light.
Soon enough he managed to keep both his eyes opened and stepped forward. Apparently today was a feast. While he knew the concept, he was intrigued by what it would be. Some events with lots of food ? So far in his experience that was every day in the Earthwing territory. Maybe even more food ? Uh, he would get a severe bellyache if that was the case.
In the distance he spotted Maxeylius talking with the Earthwing king. The gladiator seemed to have adjusted to his new life better than Rhune did. But both still showed the scars from their captivity. Their horns barely started to grow back, their claws still were dull and they both showed an impressive number of scars.
The green dragon sighed. Now wasn't the time to think about those events. After all they were here to have fun at the festival. He just sat in a corner, listening to the conversations happening around him without daring to engage one. His draconian was still gibberish after all.

((Before what?))
Baldirak wondered about what Max told him about the cracklers. "I look forward to seeing it. Now, go, enjoy yourself." The monarch dismissed Maxeylius with a wave of his paw. As Baldirak awaited a response from his sister, he noticed Rhune emerge from the cave. Rhune, like Maxeylius, had come to his clan near death, the once-slave of humans. At least, that is was could be made out.. their speech was weak, as if they had never heard their own tongue before. And the king could not see enough of their past to get a better understanding, either. Baldirak lowered his head down to Rhune's eye level. "Hello, Rhune. How are you, today?"
_______________________________________________________________
Vilkas jumped back and laughed at Torghaith's reaction. "You got scared of a Hatchling!" the little demi god laughed more before finally taking a breath and looking at what Torg wanted to show him. "How's it doing that? Shouldn't the rock make it sink?"

I must say, my young friend, you managed to miss the point to a remarkable degree... Let us start from the beginning. As he said that, he nudged the platter again, rotating it away slowly. One, it does not sink because the rock is not heavy enough. Surely you are familiar with the concept of boats, yes? Two, the point is, pointing at the platter, which once more rotated in the same direction that no matter what direction you leave it in, the rock always wants to turn towards a specific direction, and if it can, it will. I shall call it, That Way! I will have to see if it does this in other places too...

Rhune blinked as the Earthwing king suddenly spoke to him. He politely bowed to the leader, hiding the fact he needed a full second to process his words in his movement.
"Hello, Baldirak. I am fine. Getting better. Food and sleep are helping a lot." he replied, managing not to hesitate between his words by using sentences he already knew.
And indeed the green dragon seemed to be in a much better state than when he arrived in the Earthwing territory. Some of his thin scales had fallen and harder scales had grown instead. This was making him look weird as these scales were really standing out compared to the rest.

Re: A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)
A warm, soft breeze brushed against the beasts' golden scales. After 15 years of ruling, Cosmos had finally retired to a wise one after his injuries and exhaustion, handing his status to his son, Baldirak. But today is not to mourn of past events and failure, but to celebrate success and growth. Cosmos sat far from the tribe near the borders marked with thick trees.
The calm yet tired dragon lied down upon the blades of grass. "My, my. So long it has been since a feast. Quite refreshing to see it in it's beginnings." He said to himself. The sun was out for this day, and what better way to start a day than with smiling faces and sizzling meat? Though Cosmos had a large stomach but small appetite, he simply observed.
His golden scales silently collected dust as the years passed by, they weren't as fluorescent as they used to be but they still looked as if they were bejeweled. His talons began to grind against the mud and stone beneath his paws, only the flowers and trees to accompany him. Only his laughter and the feast's guests's chatter.

Re: A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)
The king smiled at Rhune as he spoke. The younger Dragon would need much practice in his mastery of their tongue, but it was good to see his progress. Progress in both speech and a healthy body, which was much more important. "Indeed, those things are serving you well, and today you may yet have more of the latter... If you plan on filling your stomach. I am glad to hear you are doing well and I hope you enjoy yourself." Baldirak turned away, going a little ways past Rylatha to sit again beside a food table. He picked a piece of elk leg and ate it, licking his lips with a delighted hiss. His pale gaze fell on his father--one could hardly miss the hulking beast--and he gave a nod, knowing it would be seen. His adopted father had been happy and also a little sad to abdicate at first. But now he seemed perfectly happy in his retirement, he had only himself to worry about now. Baldirak extended his wings a little as a breeze went by. He had had his own doubts about being King; now he was confident in his ability to lead. The EarthWinv now looked at his nephew, Vilkas, chuckling as the Hatchling appeared ready to cause some mischief as always.
_______________________________________________________________
Vilkas listened respectfully as Torghaith explained the rock and wood. But in all honesty, the Hatchling had no desire to learn anything, at least, not during a feast. And yet, he was quite curious. So, he sat and listened. When the wingless EarthWing was finished speaking, Vilkas asked, "So it's like the stars? You could travel by it?"

Well, something along those lines. If it works elsewhere too, it can be used at day, or when it is too cloudy. Then again, it is rather bothersome to use, as you can see, and it only shows a direction. But still, an interesting discovery indeed, i would say.

Re: A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)
Rhune slightly tilted his head as he tried to understand Baldirak. At least now he could understand almost everything dragons were saying, just not instantly.
"Thank you." he simply replied once he processed what the king told him.
As he left he saw some meat had already been served on the tables. He was about to head there when a loud bang. His cheek fins and dorsal fins suddenly lowered, as well as his neck as he crouched and let out a surprised meep, seemingly startled - if not panicked. It only lasted a few seconds before he noticed the colorful explosions. Standing back up again, he let out an annoyed growl, his dorsal fins still lowered. His chest was moving faster than usual. Anyone who had watched him would understand it wasn't surprise that made him have this reaction, but fear. Rhune glanced at Maxeylius, sighting.
"When you said you had a surprise I didn't know it would involve those explosions. You could have warned me before !" he told him, speaking in human language as he was too shocked to think about the corresponding draconian words.

Peila, one of Rock's Hatchlings, wandered over to Rhune. She was just old enough to walk and see an not much else. Unlike her father, her scales were mostly green. Her eyes were brown and there was nothing special about her tail--no club or spear at the end. Peila bumped into Rhune' s leg and fell back onto her rump, shaking her head before looking up at the bigger dragon.

Rhune blinked as he felt someone bumping into his leg. Looking down be noticed a small hatchling was there, visibly disoriented. The green dragon suddenly dropped his slightly angered expression, adopting a warmer one. He lowered his head, getting it at the same height than the hatchling.
"Hey, little one. Are you lost ?" he very softly asked.

Peila smiled, her tail swaying back and forth. She placed a tiny law on Rhune's snout and licked it. Not far away, Rock sat, watching his favorite of three daughters as she made a new friend. He smiled and went back to his conversation. Peila got back on her paws and finally answered Rhune with a nod. Then she tried to nudge him toward the closest food table.

Cosmos yawned, twisting his talons around a bundle of tall grass before the youth of the tribe caught his eye. Never would he have thought he'd see a new generation thrive so well upon the circumstances they faced. In the near distance, Baldirak gave him a nod. Cosmos only smiled in return. The old brute coiled his gigantic tail around his paws, his keen eyes focused on his rather busy daughter, Rylatha. He hadn't seen her in awhile... not that he has seen anyone really. He has always been tucked away in his chambers resting.
"How I missed these sights of green." He murmured. So much has changed these last few years, it was scary to think about the transition. But Cosmos truly believed that this tribe was the greatest of them all. For years he hasn't seen another dragon of a different allegiance. When it came to politics, wars, and other conflicts, they only heard silence around here.
Cosmos carefully watched his grandchildren waddle around curiously. He smiled, and laid his head upon the soft blades of grass below.
