A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)

The Earth King sat in the main chamber of the Haven, watching as his people shuffled about joyously in preparation for the feast. It had been far too long since the EarthWings celebrated anything. So Baldirak declared that today the tribe would have a feast to celebrate their success over the years, the reign of his father, and the first few months of his own. He looked down to see a group of Hatchlings racing past with a freshly killed deer on their backs. Most likely they were taking it to the tables on the surface. Yes, Baldirak had said this feast would take place on the surface. Of course, one couldn't venture past a particular group of trees which served as a landmark for the borders of the SeaWing and FireWing territories. But at least everyone could enjoy some sun and fresh air for a change. Standing, the monarch made his way down a tunnel to a cave which led outside. Several tables were set up near a lake, all already filled with a variety of meat. Rock pillars with vines wrapped around them stood around the area to serve as perches for those who wished to eat in peace. There was an area for younger Hatchlings to play and a scavenger hunt had been put together for the older ones and anyone else who wanted to join in. Baldirak inhaled deeply as a breeze went passed, the scent of trees and meat wafting to his nostrils. He blinked as the sun filled his eyes for a moment. He wasn't at all worried, as some were, that the FireWings or SeaWings might discover them here. Even if they did, all evidence of the cave and the tunnel eading to the system underground was completely hidden. And besides, they were in neutral terrtiory. Baldirak limped over to one of the tables to sit and wait for his tribe to join him. Strangely, his leg didn't seem to be bothering him much today. But perhaps that was all in his mind. After all, today was meant to be a relaxing, fun day.

Peila was happy Rhune helped her up the second time. Her paws didn't seem to want to work properly today. Hey, did he say something about food? The Hatchling sniffed at the air and looked over at the food tables. Smiling and missing at Rhune's question, she ran over to the tables.

Rhune smiled as he saw the hatchling dashing toward the tables. Well visibly this had been easier than he feared. The green dragon also headed toward the nearest table and looked at the meat that was disposed there. Just the sight of the delicately grilled meat made him salivate. Even after all those months he was salivating each time he was seeing food. Unable to wait any longer, Rhune grabbed some of the meat and took a bite of it. He couldn't help but let out a muffled moan as the taste invaded his mouth. That was the first time he was tasting something that good! The green dragon almost engulfed the meat, unable to slow down. He felt a bit guilty after he had finished, this wasn't a really appropriate behavior... But the meat just was too good. Rhune took a second piece of meat, this time trying to eat it slower.

Meanwhile, Torghaith's chain of thoughts were somewhere along these lines: "Well....feth... that was not part of the plan"
But by that time, he was already in motion and failed to stop as they crashed into each other.

Vilkas grabbed Torg and lifted him up. He patted him on the head with his other hand then set him down again, laughing as he did. Except his laugh was deep and not at all friendly sounding. But Vilkas began to return to his normal form, so his laugh did as well. He was laying on his back by the time he was a Hatchling again, giggling almost uncontrollably, "You should have seen the look on your face!"

Meanwhile, Baldirak and most everyone else watched. Some chuckled and others were a little startled, having assumed Vilkas changed forms to protect the tribe from some danger no one had sensed yet. The king stood and limped over to his nephew, coiling his tail around and lifting him. "Having fun, Vilkas?" he asked with a chuckle. "I'm glad, but perhaps next time, a little warning before you change? You've put a few on edge. They thought perhaps there was some danger." He set Vilkas down again then made his way back to a table for some more meat. Vilkas, meanwhile, apologized to everyone with an innocent smile.

Peila sat next to Rhune and ate with him. Rock watched them and smiled, happy to see his daughter had made a friend. He was also glad to see Rhune seemed to be settling in well.

((Forgive me my king! I brought shame upon your name with my manner of speech! I shall slice open my stomach to restore a meager measure of your honor!))

So very...funny.... As Vilkas was still laughing at him, he took out a small pouch from his bag Say, you ever heard of this thing some people put in food to make it feel hotter than it actually is? Before the hatchling could answer, he threw a bit of powdered pepper in his direction, which quickly expanded into a cloud around him.

Vilkas helped as his nostrils were suddenly filled with this strange powder. His eyes began to water and his nose itched. Inhaling deeply, his sneezed and a huge plume of fire flew from his maw and nostrils.

Stella walked around and sighed

''hey those are for display!''he yelled as he flew to the top of vilkas' head and snatched the mask away bashing his shattered tail behind Vilkas' head leaved three small holes.''That should teach you''flying back to his table setting the mask back throwing away the fish at Vilka's head.

Leaning out of the way of the fireball, Torghaith put the satchel back in his bag.
That should teach you.
Meanwhile, behind them, some rather surprised individuals took a fireball to the face and cast irritated glances at Vilkas...

Stella looked at the two dragons and smirked "this should be amusing," she thought to herself

He hadn't even felt the blow to his head from Max while he was in his beast form, and the spikey scales covering his head prevent the holes from being made.The young demi-god sniffled and rubbed his nose. He looked up at the poor Dragons who's gotten a facefull of fire and smiled innocently. Then he looked at Torg and growled lowly. Vilkas stalked over to the pond and sat there, trying to plot his revenge.

Torghaith trotted away, wandering around aimlessly for a while, musing to himself.
*Chuckle* Bickering with a hatchling. So immature, many would say... *Sigh*... What can i say, im a sore loser after all...
He picked out the earlier rock from his bag and started studying it once more
Now, how could i make this more viable to use while traveling...? .... i wonder if it still works if i cut it apart...

Rylatha looked at her brother, and smiled. "I look forward to seeing all good things here." She coiled her tail tighter around her paws. She tilted her head and looked at Baldirak. She blinked her crimson-dappled eyes and said, "It's been too long since we had a feast."

Rylatha turned her stare to Max, and tried hard to not growl. How dare he. How dare he hit her son? She hated it when others harmed or threatened her children. She was over-protective of all her hatchlings, even though they were nearing the age when they shouldn't have a mother mooning over them.

But still, Rylatha was very near to turning into her beastly form herself to knock sense into this other EarthWing. However, she knew that she had to keep her fire within, so she wouldn't lash out in rage. This was her Tribe, and she couldn't harm anyone in it.

She was still angry though.

"Care to explain, Maxeylius?" she said in a cool and unruffled tone.

Staring at Rylatha''first he took my helmet without asking, second he gave me a fish for something that costs more than that, and look at what he did to the cloth'' answering in a stressed voice pointing at the burnt out crisps of the cloth that was on the helmet and holding his head closing half of his four eyes turning away from Rylatha''my work!''

Rylatha frowned. She looked over at her son, who she saw that was at the edge of the pond. She turned to Maxeylius. "Excuse me, please." She strolled over to Vilkas and sat beside him. She looked at her son, feeling grief rise in her throat. He looked a lot like his father... The only one of her children who actually took after Vyur.

Rylatha shook out her wings briefly, then looked down at Vilkas. She coiled her tail around him, and said softly, "Vilkas? Do you have something to say to Maxeylius? Like an apology?"

((Mad? Hm. But first.. Enter the puppy eyes!!))

Vilkas looked up at his mother when she sat beside him. He smiled, very happy that he could spend some quality time with her... even if he was about to get scolded. "Hi, Mama... It's a nice day, isn't it? Uncle Dirak throws a nice feast doesn't he? Um.. Did you see me in my fire form, Mama? I was good, right..? Uh... Well, Mama, I didn't mean to take the helmet. I mean, I thought we could take one. I was gonna give it back, honest... Yes, Mama..." Concluding his extremely one-sided conversation with his mother, Vilkas stood and walked slowly over to Maxeylius, his tail and wings dragging shamefully along the ground. He reached the Vulcan and sat looking up at him with the saddest look he could muster. "I'm sorry, Maxeylius.. I didn't mean to ruin your helmet."

Baldirak smiled to his sister. "Indeed it has been. We'll have to have at least three this month to catch up on all we missed."

Rylatha smiled at her son. She stooped down to nuzzle his cheek. She nodded approvingly at his apology. "Your fire form was exemplary," she praised, and rose her head to look at Baldirak. "Sounds like a plan." She grinned at her brother. "Let me know if I can help."

She then looked at Maxeylius, wondering how he would react.

Meanwhile, watching from a distance, Torg is muttering to himself...
Pulling the adorable kid card to get out of it, are we...?

Patting Vilkas' head smiling with kind eyes ''it's fine, its not like he took this one'' taking out a gold helmet adorned with rubies and jewels.

Rhune let out a satisfied sigh as he finished his second piece of meat. He had probably eaten way more than what he really needed. But a part of him was just glad he could eat to his heart's content. Sadly it was the part of him that wouldn't care that he probably would get some bellyache in a few hours...
The green dragon went a few feet backwards and laid on the ground, resting his suddenly heavy belly. He definitely had to gain some self-control on that side. He noticed the young hatchling that had been playing with him was still eating, which made him smile. He maybe wouldn't be the only one to feel heavy after all this...

Vilkas smiled, glad to have been forgiven. And then he saw the gold helmet. With wide eyes, he reached out slowly to touch it. "Ooh..."

Pelia ate her fill as well, then went over to Rhune. She licked his snout then bounded over to her father, climbing onto his head for a nap.

Putting the gold helmet away''its a reward for the bash-out contest i'm having later today'' putting the helmet in a box with a lock on it.

Stella looked around and flew above a canopy and looked at the moon.

Baldirak still sat beside Cradore. His pale gaze moved across the area slowly. Some were on the perches, eating or simply to get a better view of everything. Some played games, others entertained by singing. Some were in pairs or small groups, engaged in conversation. And then there were those who simply sat, having had their fill of food and talk, watching everyone. The king smiled as the sun peaked out from behind a cloud and a warm breeze blew through.

A Hatchling flew over to Stella and poked her."Play," was all he said.

''Everyone I have an announcement!!!''shouting at the top of his lungs holding out the golden helmet to the sun''anyone who wishes to win this helmet please come to the stone circle located behind me in the clearing''concluding his announcement he takes out a wooden post that carved the words contest here.

''all ages can enter but let me tell you... it's hard'' talking in a sinister voice.
