A Gathering of EarthWings (Feast)

The Earth King sat in the main chamber of the Haven, watching as his people shuffled about joyously in preparation for the feast. It had been far too long since the EarthWings celebrated anything. So Baldirak declared that today the tribe would have a feast to celebrate their success over the years, the reign of his father, and the first few months of his own. He looked down to see a group of Hatchlings racing past with a freshly killed deer on their backs. Most likely they were taking it to the tables on the surface. Yes, Baldirak had said this feast would take place on the surface. Of course, one couldn't venture past a particular group of trees which served as a landmark for the borders of the SeaWing and FireWing territories. But at least everyone could enjoy some sun and fresh air for a change. Standing, the monarch made his way down a tunnel to a cave which led outside. Several tables were set up near a lake, all already filled with a variety of meat. Rock pillars with vines wrapped around them stood around the area to serve as perches for those who wished to eat in peace. There was an area for younger Hatchlings to play and a scavenger hunt had been put together for the older ones and anyone else who wanted to join in. Baldirak inhaled deeply as a breeze went passed, the scent of trees and meat wafting to his nostrils. He blinked as the sun filled his eyes for a moment. He wasn't at all worried, as some were, that the FireWings or SeaWings might discover them here. Even if they did, all evidence of the cave and the tunnel eading to the system underground was completely hidden. And besides, they were in neutral terrtiory. Baldirak limped over to one of the tables to sit and wait for his tribe to join him. Strangely, his leg didn't seem to be bothering him much today. But perhaps that was all in his mind. After all, today was meant to be a relaxing, fun day.

Most made their way over to Maxeylius. Vilkas was the most curious of all. Of course, he was quite mesmerized by the helmet Max was holding. It was ever so shiny and the jewels were glittering. It was so... precious. (I had to xD) Vilkas sat and waited for the Vulcan to reveal what this challenge was so he could win it and obtain the shiny helmet.

Looking at the dragons that gathered''today's challenge will be arena fights''waiting for the dragons to gasp''you see those small rocks around the clearing?''pointing at the shard sized rocks around them''they are pieces of my tail''pointing at his now smooth tail.''this will be a free for all match and please refrain from using your teeth,tail and claws,the goal of this challenge is for you to use your mind and think of a way to defeat your enemy,each of you will be given claw guards and training helmets you may use elemental attacks but do not hurt your adversary more than a gash'' stepping out of the ring, Max stands on his hind legs and roars into the sky,his eyes glowing gold. The earth around him shook and his tail-shard glowed gold rising from the ground and creating a huge wall with ridges as seats.

The earth finally stopped shaking and Max flew to the center of arena and dropped claw guards and training helmets''begin!!!'' Hearing the dragons roar of excitement.

((Sure. Torg and Vilkas were trying to outwit each other. Max made some helmets, one of which Vilkas took and messed up. Rhune and Pelia are sleeping, Rock was talking to Stella but she wandered away. Stella is now flying around and a Hatchling is attempting to play with her. Cosmos is still watching the feast from a distance, Baldirak is sitting next to Cradore, and Maxeylius has started a game in which the winer will receive a jewel-encrusted gold helmet. Baldirak said to Cradore: "Surely you didn't think you'd succeed in hiding? It's nice to see you above ground for once, Cradore."))

Cradore nodded to Baldirak and bowed. ”It was worth a try wasnt it?" Cradore looked around and surveyed everyone. He was still a fraction of his old self. He smiled when he saw a wingless dragon and a hatchling ((Sorry Cradore hasnt met either of them)) trying to outwit each other. He smiled as he saw each dragon doing whatever. Eventually, Cradore saw Cosmos, which was impossible not to, and waved. Then Cradore turned to Baldirak and asked, ”Reminds me of the old days, doesnt it?"

Rylatha pricked her ears; the sound of a competition was bound to stir up excitement for the festivity. She smiled, and raised her voice, "Sounds fun, Maxeylius." The goddess ruffled her wings and looked back at her brother, but saw he was talking to a dragon she never saw before. Perhaps she could join them.

After flashing Vilkas a look that said, 'good luck', Rylatha headed over to them. After reaching them, she nodded a greeting to the dragon Baldirak was speaking to. "Hello."

"Yes, it was. Maybe you might have better hid if you weren't taller than me. I do miss the old days. And that reminds me, I have an announcement. But it can wait til the festivities are over. Ah, hello, Sister," Baldirak waved with his wing as he stood to make room for Rylatha.

Cradore nodded towards Baldirak and looked at whoever had said hello. Cradore stopped and his jaw dropped. She was a very beautiful dragon. ”H-h-h-hello..." Cradore stammered. Then he realized Baldirak had said sister. So Cradore bowed. ”How are you, this fine day?" He asked.

Rhune was almost snoozing when he heard Maxeylius shouting something. Apparently a contest of sorts. But the green dragon was way too stuffed to consider anything beyond crawling to another spot. So instead he listened to Baldirak, Rylatha and another dragon he hadn't met yet as they were discussing. Listening was after all the best way to get used to that language he had only known by fragments until then.

Baldirak turned his pale gaze on Cradore, blinking at his initial response to Rylatha. An inaudible growl rumbled in his throat as he narrowed his eyes suspiciously at his friend.

''looks like there are two competitors left''announcing in the loudest voice he can'' Vilkas and Chromedome!''((A name I made up))''you have 30 seconds to eliminate the other or both of you lose!''Max's eyes beginning to dim lower as his power is getting weaker and his shards beginning to shrink.

Vilkas looked at the only other competitor left. (How old/big is Chrome?) He was just a bit surprised that he'd lasted this long. After all, he was just a Hatchling and the only fighting he'd done was play fighting. He glanced at the golden helmet then back at his competitor as he circled round, trying to figure out how to best him.

((hes about 5 ft taller than Vilkas and 8 dragon years))

Vilkas continued circling around Chrome, waiting for him to do something.

Pelia woke from her nap and pounced on Rhune.

Standing, the king made his way over to Rhune, having noticed that he seemed to be awake now. "Hello, Rhune. I'm glad to see you made a new friend today," he said in reference to Pelia. He sat beside the smaller EarthWing and curled his tail around his paws.

Rhune giggled as Pelia leapt on him, but quickly regained his seriousness as Baldirak talked to him. It visibly took him a few seconds to process the sentence, after what he nodded with a smile.
"Yes, apparently I did. Hatchlings, they are so... wonderful." he replied, his smile getting wider as he glanced at Pelia.

Baldirak smiled and nodded. "Yes, they are. And your lessons? How are they going?" While he waited for an answer, he looked around at everyone. He smiled, as everyone, even his mountain of a father, seemed to be enjoying themselves. If only this wonderful day wasn't to be followed by several days of work. What the EarthWing wouldn't give to live the carefree life of a Hatchling again for a day.

Rhune looked back at Baldirak, a small smile on his face.
"They're... fine. I'm quickly... catching up, hopefully. And I'll soon be... able to fly ! My wings are... getting stronger. I can't wait for this !" he replied, visibly excited at the idea to make his first flight.
And sure his wings looked better now, the muscles having strengthened. It wasn't like when he arrived, when it was so thin it was almost scary.

Cradore watched as Baldirak walked to a dragon he has never seen before. Cradore left Baldirak to that and turned to Rylatha. ”Miss, It was a pleasure to meet you but im going to walk around" So he bowed turned and walked away. He went to a out crop of rocks and sat on them. He gazed over the whole thing and sighed.

Baldirak smiled. "Most wonderful news, Rhune." Lowering his head down to Rhune's level, he inspected his wings. Indeed, they were stronger and looked far better than they had when he first arrived. "Soon, yes. And I'm sure everyone will be excited to see you fly for the first time."

Rhune couldn't help but grin as Baldirak inspected his wings and commented on them.
"I've been... waiting for this for so long ! I've never felt... excited about... anything before. It's... weird." he replied, often searching for his words. With his excitement, he wasn't really trying to simplify his sentences, so they really came out with spaced in-between.

"You think this feeling odd, just wait til you're in the air for the first time." The monarch lifted his head and let his gaze call on the horizon. He frowned a little as he began thinking. "Rhune, something has troubled me from the day you and Maxeylius arrived. What if those Humans still search for you?"

Rhune continued to smile until Baldirak suddenly took a more serious tone. Once again, it took a few seconds for him to process what the leader had said, but once he did he titled his head. The idea actually never occurred to him the humans still could be searching for him and Maxeylius. Just thinking about it made him tense up, his breathing slightly accelerating. Never would he let them catch him again alive !
"We... we were more. We went... different ways. So they... couldn't follow." he replied, looking serious... and worried.
