We Belong Together (all welcome)

Rii woke up startled by the dream she had been having. Her long muzzle crinkles as the she dragon opens her jaws in a long yawn. Her long canines glittered in the dim light before Rii's blue muzzle shuts closed. She gazes down into the nest wondering if Au was around then stretches to relieve her tense muscles.

It's been a long time since I thought about him... Rii thinks lazily as she sits and closes her sparkling blue eyes. She had dreamed of her older brother Rye, and although the dream had been reminiscent of the happy memories of her younger years; Rii could not help but feel rage building within her heart. She looked around for Mairii's skull and found it just where she had left it. The pearly white bone stood out against the dark marble rock wall where it sat in an alcove Rii had carved from the wall. She was still in the process of carving out many more slots in the wall of her nest and resting area for the things she had collected in this land.

touching the skull softly with her snout Rii sighed then adjusted herself into a sitting position. Her eyes travel across the pitted marble wall. Rii had yet to bring her giant piece of quartz crystal and the small boulder sized fragment of volcanic glass to her new den in the earthwing tribe. She had too many things to take back to this den at the time and could not carry both pieces of rock with her. Plus Rii was often made busy by the master healer, the head vulcan, or by AuSurath himself. When she wasn't doing chores for the tribe Rii was trying to keep Au out of trouble and form being stepped on by the other much larger earthwings that called this place home. She had dug out a big pit that was littered with little carved wooden and stone toys for the younger dragon to play with. She was afraid for him constantly that he might get stomped on, but a part form making a bunch of railing and digging trenches where Au shouldn't go Rii couldn't do much more.

He had been nice and cozy against the nook between Rii's front paw and her body, surrounded by her fluffy fur.  He was enjoying a nice dream of world domination, where everything was made of that chocolate and was yummy.  Then there was an earthquake, and he had to blink his eyes awake from his dream, realizing that his comfy bed was moving.  Yawning with his mouth open wide, neck stretching up, he blinked and lazily moistened his mouth, getting rid of the sticky saliva that was there from sleep.

Peering at Rii, and realizing that he still wanted to sleep, he gave a total look of unapporval at Rii, definitely not wanting to get up.  To prove his disapproval, he groaned as he stretched, before pratically diving back against Rii's armpit to snuggle, shutting his eyes tightly to show that he was sleeping, even though he wasn't.  Nor was he a good actor, but he didn't want to get up yet, and HIS comfy bed kept moving! That was no good!

Athena flared her wings and ascended through the clouds, spinning and twisting as she slowly came to a stop. She felt the wind against her face and she couldn't help it, the biggest grin found it's way onto her snout. With a loud roar, she began to fall, slowly pointing herself straight at the ground.

The clouds disappeared behind her, and the trees as small as fleas came to the size of saplings, then proper trees in less then twenty five seconds. Athena grinned even wider, and as she came dangerously closer to the ground, she snapped open her wings and flared them, pulling up, her bones hurting from the force as her claw skidded against the ground. It had been that close. Athena hovered for a moment, before she landed, unawares she was RIGHT outside a cave, just a few feet away.

Rii looked down to watch Au as he groaned and complained about being awoken by her movements. She smiled warmly down at the child then nuzzled Au as he tried to stuff himself into and under her armpit. Rii had no idea what was going on at the entrance of the haven. Though the earthwings had hidden the entrances to the haven within caves with earth and rocks there was a chance someone might notice something off. Rii was deep within the haven not even minutely aware of Athena's presence directly above her about a mile up at the surface.

Storm had been exploring the wild world, finally away from his job as a lieutenant. Tion had allowed him a small vacation, and he was going to use up every last second of it. Anyways, back to his situation.

Storm was hunting, unaware that he was very near the cave where the two drakes were sleeping. Only a few yards away from him, was a large elk. His mouth watered and he smacked his lips eagerly. He was right about to pounce, when a deafening roar split the air. He had to strike. NOW.

Storm launched instantly, but was a split second to late. The elk had bolted after the roar, and Storm missed it's flank by a scale's width. He growled, annoyed, but he surprisingly wasn't angry at the dragon. He knew that roar. Athena!

Storm ran from the shad of the trees in the direction of the roar. There she was, glistening brightly in the sun, wings outstretched as if she just landed. "Athy!" He ran and hugged her with glee. He let go and stepped back. "How are you?"

BUMP

When the rogue landed beside the cave, the mutants and the Eagles did their job, alerting the EarthWings below with their subtle code. But the Scouts had no fear; all the hidden entrances had already been closed off and hidden even more today. Baldirak had asked for this the evening before but gave no reason. In fact, the King hadn't left his den since making that announcement. Some assumed that he was experiencing debilitating pain in his leg again, but others observed that this wasn't the case. It was a mystery, but no one bothered to ask the King why he acted so strangely.

Vilkas, in the meantime, wandered around the Haven. Being unable to go to the surface for even a second without his Uncle's permission left him quite bored. He hadn't planned on going to the surface anytime soon, but he missed having the option. The demi-god decided to spend some time in the Forge Chamber and work on his vulcanry.

(I have no idea what else to post cause Au still resting on meh ;-; )

Rii nuzzles Au again then tilts her head over to the little wooden carvings of dragons and other creatures. They were the young nightwings toys. Rii picked up one carving that was the likeness of a bear then continued carving more details into it.

AuSurath murred, rolling over onto his back and announcing his annoyance at being woken up. He stretched his little feet and paws in the air, sprawling out as his tiny wings fluttered against Rii's fluffy fur. Smacking his mouth to clear the sticky morning saliva, the scaleless hatchling rolled onto his belly, still staying sprawled out. Purring, he crouched, then pounced the back of Rii's neck, nomming the fur before realizing fur was no good on his tongue, and sat up and pawed at his tongue to clean up some of the fur.

Rii would have a full day taking care of Au and doing her own work. She would never know about the dragons who were above the haven in the outside world conversing. Instead she was busy making her mark and working for her tribe.
