Once Again Known [Private EarthWings]
Whatever are we, but insects?
Sure, we look down at those below us, the humans, the weak, the small, and think we are superior.
But alas, such lies are simply not true.
For a great kingdom fell many years ago.
We are the ones that should feel small
Our arrogance got in the way of common sense
But now we understand
Now....
I think it's high time I come back

It's been a long time, now, hasn't it? It was mid morning. A slight breeze whistled through the trees, carrying with it the smell of a promising new life. Creatures buzzed and whistled, their eyes darting down towards a towering shape, as it moved its way through the forest. It was a mystery how such a large object could stay so well hidden from those whom had been searching for her for so long, eventually assuming her dead. But alas, she was very much alive. Alive and well, she very much thought herself to be. She had achieved spiritual enlightenment while she had been gone. That faithful night. The nights he had met the god of life. Then everything had become so clear.
She had left in order to find her calling. She became a monk in the wilderness, traveling and refusing to hunt, feasting off the energy of nature. She had seen quite a few mysterious things, such as works of angels and demons. But her holy work would be put aside for but a moment, as she went back to the Earth Kingdom. Her god had told her that the Earthwings now lived underground, and were building a haven. She desired to see this haven. For as much as she had grown spiritually, her loyalties still lied with her father and her tribe.
Xia, her name was, knew little of the changes that had transpired since her disappearance. She was not aware of the new semi god, nor of the new king. Nor of any plans that had been made in her absence. All she knew was that she was about to be reunited with the people she lived. Her brilliant, flowery frill shone gorgeously in the sunlight. She had truly evolved into a beauty beyond compare. Like a sparkling diamond jewel. Her majesty had become so magnificent. She was unrecognizable, aside from the fact her frill was still the same texture and color.
But she still had that calm, peaceful aura to her. The same aura she'd had since birth. If her family was truly her own, they would recognize their long lost princess, even if she had changed so much, both spiritually and physically. On the inside, emotionally, she was still the same. Her kindness had known no bounds then, and it certainly knew none now.
She spotted a familiar site. An entrance in the ground. She was surprised she had made it this far without being spotted. There were a few guards at the entrances, and she thought she saw movement. Well, there was no turning back now. With no fear, the dragoness made her presence known, stepping out into the sunlight. The distant crow of a macaw was heard, and the regular sounds of the rain forest bustled as usual. With one keen difference.
Cosmos' daughter had returned.

(Just gonna say Tani lived with Cossy cus why not
Also, short post is short because other post was long
)
Life had been hard, ever since Tani, the now elderly dragoness, had lost her children to the war of the humans. Her and Cosmos had been absolutely devastated. Xia and one other daughter were the only ones known to have survived the first strike. But when the second one came around, both of them disappeared. The humans had stolen/killed all of their children, and Tani had wanted to seek revenge on them immediately.
Luckily, Cosmos had managed to calm her down at the time, and convince her that violence was not the best answer. He told her that, in time, they would return to their former glory, and rid their once great empire of any human scum that dared to defy them. Tani had been soothed by her mate's words, and had decided to join him, in helping to rebuild the kingdom. And has since helped the new king, her adopted son, to rebuild it as well.
She and Cosmos had since become instructors together, but Tani still had that fighting spirit, and she would patrol the forests every three days, when she had the time. As she came back from a patrol, she spotted a mysterious, lime green dragoness. They were large, much larger than her, or any other Earthwing, for that matter. Cautious, the old dragoness approached her. When she saw the flowery frill, and that elogant posture, Tani instantly recognized the giant dragoness.
Taking a tentative step forward, the two met, face to face, for the first time in thirty years. With a low, frail voice, Tani questions, "Xia?"

Above the once-Queen, the Great Eagles soared and patrolled themselves. Baldirak had never been fond of his adopted mother's insistence on going to the surface so often every week to search for her real children. His fears and determination to keep his Tribe safe had been the cause of one or two disagreements. But eventually he had to give in to Rektani.
The Eagle Dwenal spotted a rather large, green Dragoness coming into the area the of the FireWings that the EarthWings still lived beneath undetected. He gave the usual signal as he flew lower. The mutant animals relayed a message to the Scouts below. This message was eventually given to the Earth King: an EarthWing has come to the area and met Rektani. Baldirak made his way to the surface by way of the cave and saw immediately the Dragoness that had wandered here. Something about her seemed very familiar, but at the moment, he couldn't place it. He limped over to the pair, moving to stand beside Rektani. "Do you know this Dragoness, Mother? Who is she?"

Re: Once Again Known [Private EarthWings]
A quiet, spring morning came and fell into a warm noon, Cosmos patiently sat in his chambers humming a melody of which embraced memories of his old Kingdom. The elderly monarch smiled down to his talons, opening his eyes to see that it was about time he'd go out to meet his mate, Rektani, out on the fields of the Haven.
He arose from his position of comfort and peace, proceeding to the chamber exits and towards the entrance of the Haven. Many greetings and many farewells were bidded to him as he walked down the crowding halls of the Haven. How pleasant were the sweet voices of his people, kin and friend alike. He knew just about every soul dwelling within these walls, and was treated in high regard for his past accomplishments and titles. It was certainly a lovely thing to wake up to in the mornings.
Cosmos finally made it out of the Haven with much displeasure. His size had barely fit into the Haven with any comfort, really, but his body adapted to the living conditions in a matter of time and managed to find ways to pull himself out without doing much of a thing. There, in the nearby distance, was his elderly mate and adopted Son, now King of the thriving tribe... and, another?
The sight was a pleasant surprise but also struck him with a bit of worry. They didn't get any visitors, and when they did, it was of high importance. But, the 'visitor' was about as large as he was, and had a sense of deja vu to it's looks.
He sensed a thin, yet dense, connection to this person, but no words were spoken. How odd was this? It was only his children who were as big as he-
Cosmos paused.
Her smell, her atmosphere, her eyes, her scales, her wings, could it be?...
Cosmos trotted over to the scene with haste, an eager expression frozen to his lips and a bit of a pleasant distraught in his old, weaken eyes. And there, not greeting his beloved ones, he stood in shock, his jaw descended to it's extent, and stood there speechless.
"Xia... darling?..."

Re: Once Again Known [Private EarthWings]
The once young, so innocent dragoness looked down at the dragoness in front of her. She, no doubt, recognized her as her long gone mother. The one whom had cared for her in this tragic times for ten years, before her disappearance. Now, even though Xia had changed so much, she still had her own soul, and on the inside, she still knew who her parents were, even after all this time of them being apart.
She could feel emotions she hadn't felt in so long, coming back up again. All that raw spiritual energy that had been drifting around when she was young, that she'd learned to embrace. Now it felt like the first time. When her mother recognized her, even after all these years, Xia nodded happily, but yet in a somber movement. For she had not seen her family in such a long time, and it felt as if she had abandoned them.
Another stranger approached, at least, she thought they were a stranger at first. As she examined them, she realized who they were. That unmistakable shape. The scent. The scales. This was one of the dragons who managed to save her when she was but a baby, a long, long time ago. She was surprised she even remembered him. Of course, she couldn't put a claw on what his name was, but she was glad to see him anyway. Really, seeing any other Earthwings would have been a sight for soar eyes, as she had been so isolated these past years.
She bowed her head to Tani and the stranger beside her, her graceful elegance visible in years of practice of courtesy. Her gorgeous flowery frill danced on the wind, seeming to almost sparkle as she ducked down in front of the two dragons. Because she had been gone for so long, Xia was not aware of the rulership change, and still believed her mother and father were king and queen. But she addressed them equally, as a sign of respect.
"Hello, mother. It is I, Xia. I assure you, I am very much real," she said with a dip of her head, bowing to Baldirak, "And it is a pleasure to meet you as well, sir. I'm afraid I don't know your name, though. Could you enlighten me?" she asked him politely, dipping her head to him.
The pounding of wings alerted Xia, and she quickly turned her head. In the distance, she saw a looming figure begin to approach. There was no mistaking it. This looming beast was her father, Cosmos. No other dragon could possibly be that large. He soared over the tree tops, as if a mountain had simply decided it no longer liked where it lay. Yet his grace was simply marveling. Who knew such a large creature could be so magnificent.
When he approached, landing with an echoing boom, and questioned her, Xia bowed deeply to him, assuming him to still be the king and ruler of the Earthwings, or what was left of them. Emotion was starting to get the better of her, and her voice cracked some when she spoke to him, trying to remain cool, but having it not work very well.
"Yes, father. I have returned."

Re: Once Again Known [Private EarthWings]
The Earth King looked from his adopted parent to the larger EarthWing before them. It wasn't long before he felt familiar, heavy paws shaking the ground. He grimaced as the trembling aggravated his leg and he couldn't help but wish he could make his father as small as a SkyWing. In the meantime, the Dragoness, whom apparently was Rektani's daughter, introduced herself. Baldirak smiled and dipped his head in turn. "And you, Child of Earthil. Xia... I remember that name. You were so young, then... I am Baldirak, once a protector of you and your family. Now I lead the EarthWings and try to convince Cosmos, however feeblely, to actually retire. Ah, speaking of Cosmos..." he turned around, having noticed the giant's pawsteps had gotten closer. He backed away as Cosmos approached to see his daughter. Without waiting for a response from Xia, Baldirak slipped away from the three to return to the Haven.

(I'm just going to end this topic, cus It's obvious no one is posting.)
Truly, it was a miracle. A miracle that such good luck could abound ripely, even after all of the torment that had befallen the Earth Kingdom. Two princesses had returned in one day. Family had been reunited. Indeed, it seemed as if things were starting to look up for the Earth Kingdom. And as her family embraced them with open arms and wings, Xia couldn't help but look up at the sky, feeling incredibly grateful for all of this.
Thank you, god of life, for this true miracle.
