Making Up for Lost Time (Rylatha)

Baldirak made his way through the Haven to the dens of the Wise Ones. He was going to see his sister, Rylatha, and had handed his kingly duties over to his Advisors. He planned on spending the whole day with his sibling. It had been too long since they'd chatted, or even seen each other. She didn't often leave her den and he didn't often visit. Vilkas tagged along behind his Uncle, wanting to spend the day with his mother as well. Ever since Rylatha lost her semi powers and became blind again, VIlkas took care of her, staying close by as much as possible. She, of course, always insisted he tend to his duties first.

Baldirak and VIlkas... and Hapax and Hamnet, who followed along despite the King's orders not to... finally arrived to Rylatha's den. Baldirak tapped on the wall with his tail. "Rylatha? Would you care for some company? Vilkas and I have come to spend the day with you."

Rylatha was in her den, her paws fumbling around in a box of stuff. Once she became blind, a carver had labelled each of her chests in braille so she wouldn't stick her paw in a box full of swords or something-- not that she needed swords anyway, but like most dragons, she covets shiny and interesting things. Though she couldn't see the blade gleam in the candlelight, she had a good look at it before she lost her powers.

But anyway, she was shuffling around in a box of jewelry she used to wear. She felt the long strings of necklaces, hooks of earrings, wraps of bracelets and rings. Rylatha hadn't adorned herself with gems in a long time. Perhaps she could try to wear something simple. She picked up a ring and slipped it on one talon. She fingered around it for a few seconds, feeling the studs on it. They were either gems, or the wrap of precious metal was dented.

Rylatha pricked up her cat-like ears at the sound of a tap and she jumped up, accidentally knocking over a vase with dead flowers in it. A spider had begun to make its home there, and it didn't seem happy. "Oh, clumsy me," she mumbled to herself.

Wait a minute. Baldirak! Vilky-Boo-Pie! Rylatha quickly put the vase back where it fell from, the spider beginning to spin its web again. "C- Company!" She exclaimed. "Please come in!" She breathed in their scents, smiling at the familarity (or however it's spelled) of it, catching the smell of other two dragons. She didn't think she'd met them, but she welcomes company nonetheless.

While the two waited for permission to enter the den, they heard something hit the floor. Their first instinct was to run in and make sure Rylatha was okay. But Bladirak and VIlkas knew better than anyone that their sister/mother hated to have them jump at any sign of danger regarding the blind Dragoness. Baldirak felt the same way when it came to his leg. But Uncle and Nephew still exchanged a concerned glance, at least until they finally heard Ryla welcome them in. With a silent sign of relief, the walked in and took turns giving the blind Dragoness a hug.

"Hello, Sister. I hope we haven't interrupted anything. How are you this mornging?"
"Hi, Momma! (by the way, let's say Vilkas is still a Hatchling ((and technically he still is)) so Ryla doesn't miss out on that) Guess what I did yesterday??"

The EarthWing Wise One let a loud purr escape her throat as she heard the pawsteps of her son and brother. The rumbling became louder as they hugged her. Rylatha had learned on her own that it was awkward if she had tried to hug a dragon like she normally did in the past: wrapped wings, head on shoulder, maybe even twining her tail with theirs if the dragon was of family or close friend. But it was awkward to do that now, since Rylatha wasn't sure if her wings would only wrap around herself, and leaning her head forth while doing so would make her lose balance and fall. so instead the dragoness leaned onto her brother, and nuzzled the head of her son.

She smiled in what she thought was the direction of Baldirak Sapiens Draco (accidentally looking at a bookshelf next to him) and shook her head. "Oh, you haven't interrupted anything! I was just looking--" She quickly corrected herself. "--going through my things." She 'looked' down at Vilkas, accidentally bumping her nose on the top of his head. She brought up her neck quickly. "Sorry," she said in a mumble, but then went on. "What did you do, Vilky?" She grinned.

((Vilkas and Evaleen may become trainees soon... It's about time anyway, heh <3)
