Through the Storm (Open to All)

A storm rolled through the Earthwing territory, not great weather for most, but it was perfect for a thunderbird like Tormaigh. The falcon-like thunderbird flew just below the clouds, letting lightning strike his back as he looked for some foolish prey. The bird soon found stray cow. He soon thought to himself Humans. Never seem to keep watch of their creatures. My reward. Tormaigh then let out a bolt of lightning from him beak, and quickly gripped the now dead animal before finding a relatively dry place to enjoy his meal.

Though Toxin normally loved the ran and the night, the thunder and lightning kept the wavyrn hidden in the cover of a great cave. His wings covered himself to keep the rain off his scales as it blows in from the open sky. To the outside world he appears as two bright green eyes, scanning the rumbling sky for anything of interest.

As Tormaigh finished his prey, the Thunderbird still felt hungry. So he took off once more. As Tormaigh moved through the sky, a bolt of lightning struck him, though it didn't even faze the beast. He then noticed and odd, green glow. I've never seen anyone in that cave before. Wonder who they are, Tormaigh thought as he swooped in for a closer look.

Toxin rests his head on a rock in front of him, relaxed and calm as the sound of the rain makes him feel safe. Watching the mouth of the cave he sees a new kind of light approach.

Sitting up he prepares himself for someone to come into his dry space.

Tormaigh finally got a good look at who was in the cave, or at least a better look. The thunderbird decided to land near the cave entrance, wanting to stay outside so he could run quickly if he had to. Tormaigh then opened his beak and began to speak. "Hello? I've never seen you here before so I wanted to be hospitable introduce myself." Tormaigh decided to let the dragon react before he spoke further.

"hello..." Toxin sits up as the thunder bird comes into his sight. He's never seen one before so hes not sure if he should be careful.

"I don't mean to be rude but what are you? I've never seen anything like you before"

Tormaigh couldn't help but smile. he couldn't believe the dragon didn't know what he was, but, then again, there weren't many thunderbirds either. "Well, dragon, I am a thunderbird. A might bird with similar abilities to the Skywings. We can control electricity, hints the name. And, if you would like to know, I am Tormaigh.

A slight smile graces his face. Sitting up further with interest he tilts his head. "Controlling lightning sounds useful. What do you use it for? "

Tormaigh looked at the wyvern, and quickly answered. "Mostly for hunting, though it is useful to keeping honor in a fight. Lets you stunt your opponent as opposed to killing them."

"I can see the appeal" He looks up to the stormy sky.
"All my gift is good for is defence" he shrugs lightly and wraps his tail around him. The cold just starting to get to him.

Tormaigh smiled. He then began to realize that he didn't know the wyverns name. What is your name, dragon?"

"Toxin" He speaks softly. Still shy around the large bird but trusts him enough.

Tormaigh looked at the wyvern, Toxin. He gave a soft smile as he shook some to knock off the rain water. The falcon-like thunderbird didn't want to become waterlogged and standing in the rain wasn't helping with that. The massive bird then looked once again at Toxin. "Well. It is a pleasure to meet you, Toxin. So what are your gifts?"

"Acid" He mumbles. "I can spray acid in a fine mist or a gush. Most of the time if it hits tissue it's deadly."

He looks away slightly. His gift is for defence only. He can't hunt with it, can't make his life any easier. It just is used for defence.

Tormaigh looked curiously at the wyvern. Toxin seemed to be an interesting dragon, though he was still wondering one this. The the thunderbird then asked his question with a curious voice. "Interesting. So, what brings to the territory of the Earthwings?"

"I'm looking for something." He sighs lightly. "Or someone. What ever I've been looking for I'm always dragged back to the earth or night wings. One day I hope to find what's drawing me here"

Tormaigh was intrigued by the dragon's response. The thunderbird thought for a moment, then thought of a possible answer. "Perhaps...it is something that you remember from when you were still in your egg. It's not uncommon for egg-born creatures like us to have some small memories of that time.

Looking down he tries to remember what drew him here in the first place. The bird is correct and some things he was sure he had never seen he had remembered when he saw them. "You are probably right but it's hard to know how I rememberd these things. I hatched in the land of the firewings and yet I don't resemble a fire wing. My gift falls under earth and I bet the rest of me falls under night." He shakes his head. "I'd like to just drop that for now, you should come into the cave. It's warmer in here then it is out there and even for a thunder bird the rain can't feel that good in this amount" he takes a few steps back to alow the bird room to enter

The bird looked at Toxin with a hit of sadness on his face. He couldn't imagine not knowing where he came from, or who his parents were, but he understood why Toxin wished to quit talking about.

Then, at the offer of some room in the cave, Tormaigh gave a nod before he shook off the excess water and walked into it. "Thank you. Getting your feathers water-logged is not a good thing."

"I can't say I know the feeling. " He fans his wings slightly. Scale not feather.

"Do feathers make it easier for you to fly?" He can only guess that it can't. Sky wings are the fastest dragons around and they have scales mostly. The thin transparent green membrane of his wing makes his flight quiet but not too fast.

Tormaigh thought for a moment. He wasn't really sure how to answer the question, especially since he had never had a dragon's bat-like wings. "I cannot say for sure. I know they provide some protection from the elements, but I cannot tell if they are any better than your wings."

Toxin nods and one day he might have to ask a being who has both. "Well regardless of that your welcome to stay here to rest and dry off." He looks back outside to the storm. "I'm not sure how long before this passes but until then I should stay here as well."

Tormaigh looked up at the sky. He knew the nature of storms quiet well, and did his best to guess how long the storm would last. "I would guess no more then an hour, maybe even half and hour."

"That sounds good, as much as I enjoy caves i really wish to move on." He pulls his wings around himself to buckle down for the cold and the wind.

Tormaigh chuckled slightly. "I can understand that. What other places have you traveled?"
