Idea: Auto-Ability

If you have read up on the most recent revamp, you must be aware that your dragon can now only start with one ability and earn more via DP. I'm all game for this ability, and I think it'll make the site more fun, but around a week ago in the chatbox something came to mind.

Should purebreeds have a sort of. . . Auto-Ability, I'll call it for now, that they're just naturally born with and not earned? Come to think of it it would make purebreeds start with two special abilities, but this auto-ability doesn't count as 'special' since all dragons of their kind will have it. I call it an auto-ability because if they're a purebreed, it's something they'll have automatically.

For instance, a NightWing's auto would be the ability to see in the dark, and FW's would be a resistance to fire (although not completely resistant that they'll be unaffected if they're attacked with flame). SeaWings should all be able to breathe underwater, as that's something they should have since hatching.

This could only be for purebreeds. Like for instance, a SeaWing/LightWing hybrid won't be born being able to breathe underwater or be able to change color. . . Or maybe they could have one, but not both.

Who knows? Maybe this is an idea, or maybe this is just a miscommunication on my side.

I like it. Though, I'm pretty sure most purebreeds already have this, as a sort of unstated ability o3o. Of course, I'd need elaboration from the admins. XD Like, I'm pretty sure all pureblood NightWings have night vision as an unspoken ability.

I thought the same thing, but it came up in confusion in chatbox around a week ago and we were all puzzled and unsure about it when someone was trying to make a character.

Yeah, I think we would need a bit of elaboration from administrators. Better safe than sorry!!

Yeah, purebreds already have a set of auto-abilities. FireWings breath fire, IceWings ice. SeaWings breathe underwater and have water breath. NightWings have night vision and their sleeping gas. EarthWings can heal wounds with mud, have acid or rock breath. SkyWings have lightning or wind breath, fly fast. LightWings have breath light beams, can change the color of their scales. You can have all of your species's auto-abilities, or just some of them.

That's why we have special abilities, so one can give themselves an ability that no other PC has, unique to them.

And actually, a hybrid could have one of each of their species' auto abilities, they would just be weaker than a purebreds. Unless they are more of one than another in which case the one ability would be stronger.
